ISE review of I-D: deprecate command VER?
...e following comment from the Independent Submissions Editor (ISE): The command VER is hazardous because it encourages exploiting of implementation peculiarities that are not well documented in a protocol.? The best example of such a failure is the browser version field in HTTP.? A complete disaster.? You should warn against use of this command, or even better, deprecate it. I was not aware of the disaster in the browser version field, but I will warn against use of VER, and deprecate it, if you agree. Roger

DC disaster recovery
.../7-1/vms-snapshots-export.html That should give an resonable backup. XOA, yes thats looks nice also, i never used it. If you have only 1 XEN server, i would just pickup an pc, or buy a second hand server and install XEN and run a second DC Or just add a second DC somewhere, save you in case of disaster recovery a lot of troubles. You can add one a a cloud, but the dont forget to configure the GPO's and then make sure you assign the server in lan for resolving and authenticion. The cloud one is then only the backup DC. Just an extra idea. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk be...

I thought the CR repo usually holds all updates with the exception of centos-release, or are there more updates to com...

ChessBase Disaster on Fedora 15
One major disaster is misappropriation of the special chess symbol font that is included in ChessBase for use in chess diagrams as supposedly legible: http://kayve.net/bad_chessbase.png another disaster is hidden behind the dialog, but when I installed ChessBase on CentOS wine, I found a similar problem. I am tryi...

Disaster recovery on PDC
Hi all, I search about disaster recovery, but I can't understand how to proceed... I perform backups on my PDC (data and configuration). My question is about secrets.tdb: according some docs, I can't install a new server and just put the secrets.tdb on samba configuration directory, because the SID it's specific. If...

CR repo update disaster for my desktop.
I have a centos 7.5 desktop workstation with dual nvidia graphic cards running three monitors. I use the i915 motherboard graphics adapter for the third monitor with bumblebee to work the magic to enable the three contiguous work spaces. I use the kmod nvidia drivers for the two graphics cards. This has worked without a hitch for 5 months until this weekend. I enabled the CR repo and did the yum

DC disaster recovery
So, I'm generally running my DC's in VM's on Xen [XCP-NG]. And I'm considering recovery from different disaster situations - say a crashed/corrupt DC. Or hardware failure. Yes, I could run a second VM with a second DC. But unless I setup another XCP server and put the VM on that - the biggest threat to the current VM/DC is the hardware it's running on. So, it really doesn't make a lot of sense to ru...

mixing tcp/ip and ib/rdma in distributed replicated volume for disaster recovery.
Hi, we would like to build a gluster storage systems that combines our need for performance with our need for disaster recovery. I saw a couple of posts indicating that this is possible (http://gluster.org/pipermail/gluster-users/2010-February/003862.html) but am not 100% clear if that is possible Let's assume I have a total of 6 storage servers and bricks and want to spread them across 2 buildings for DR. ser...

Disaster recovery recommendations
Greetings, I have three drives; they are all SATA Seagate Barracudas; two are 500GB; the third is a 2TB. I don't have a clear reason why they have failed (possibly due to a deep, off-brand, flakey mobo; but it's still inconclusive, but I would like to find a disaster recovery service that can hopefully recover the data. Much thanks for any and all suggestions, Max Pyziur pyz at brama.com
