Server disappears from Network Neighborhood
>From time to time someone will comment in this list that their Samba server has disappeared from the list of hosts in Network Neighborhood. Browsing the list archive has yet to turn up any good explanation of this phenomenon. I think I have a clue. This morning my server disappeared again. When I checked the process list on the server I noticed that nmbd had been swapped out to disk. The

Off-Topic: LaTeX package listings
Hola! I ask here since I learnt from this list that the LaTeX package listings should be good for typesetting R code. I encountered one problem: \begin{lstlisting} X %*% V \end{lstlisting} in the output the * in %*% disappears! same with %/%, etc, the / disappears. Any ideas? Kjetil -- Kjetil Halvorsen. Objects disappearing in my R work space
I am running MCMC chains with a self written MCMC algorithm. When I have multiple R terminals open while running the Chain, when it finishes it is not there. when I press ls() it does not show up and when I type the Name it says the Object is not found. I assume It is unrecoverable... but how do I stop it from happening in the future? Thanks Mike -- View this message in context:

Printers disappearing
Hello people. We have an OLD version of Samba linking a Sun running SunOS 4.1.3 with PCs running Windows 95. Both Samba and the OS are to be upgraded in the next couple of months but until that ahppens we have a problem that I would like some advice on. The problem is the list of defined printers in Windows disappears every now and then. It does not happen for all PCs simultaneously, or

axis labels disappear
When I do a plot, e.g. plot(1:10) and resize the window so that the x-axis becomes too small to hold all the x-axis labels, R automatically makes some of the labels disappear so that the remaining fit in the available space. I would like to be able to tell R which labels should not be removed. I've tried plotting the axis with axis() but this behaviour is still there.

Messages disappear and reappear when I check mailbox using KMail
Not sure if this is a Dovecot bug or a KMail bug, but since it only seems to happen to people using KMail to access a Dovecot server or a Novell NetWare IMAP server, I thought I should mention it here. <http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121866> From the bug report: When I check for mail on an IMAP account (not disconnected), all recently-received messages disappear prior to any mail

Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock - SOLVED
P.S. I _had_ read the other posts that suggest changing to unicast sntp mode. This didn't help. I eventually setup a new ntp server on my LAN, and used it as a sync source. Everything seems OK now. Obviously a problem with my other ntp server. Cheers. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Cisco 7940 - Disappearing Clock Date: Thu, 28 Jul 2005 11:50:35 +1000 From: Rod Bacon

Recycle Bin disappeared (GNOME, CentOS 5.5, 32 bit)
Probably this is due to operator error, The Recycle Bin in GNOME disappeared, for this CentOS 5.5 (32 bit) Desktop PC. The box is fully updated. Is there a command I can use, or another procedure, to get the Recycle Bin in GNOME working again? The .trash folder is there. Incredibly rare that I use the KDE Desktop, but it is also installed on this box and the Trash folder (like the Recycle Bin

Re: Folder disappears after mounting a share
I am having the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this yet? At home on my workgroup style network, this works fine. At work on my domain style network, I can connect to most of the computers and servers except a few. When I mount the windows share, the folder I mounted to disappears from Konqueror view. In a terminal window, the folder is not visible either. It doesn't appear

Servers disappear from Network neighborhood
I am using Samba-PDC-LDAP with samba-3.0.20b-1. On my file servers I am using samba-3.0.10-1.4. I'm not sure exactly what is happening but every couple of weeks the file servers disappear form network neighborhood. I checked browstat on my Windows system and it points to my PDC as the master browser and I checked the wins.dat file on my PDC and the systems were there. I did not check

Package group "X Window System" has disappeared
Hi, Until last week, I could install a CentOS 7 based desktop using the following approach: 1. Install minimal system. 2. yum groupinstall "X Window System" 3. yum install gdm gnome-classic-session gnome-terminal liberation-fonts 4. Install applications as needed. This morning, the package group "X Window System" seems to have disappeared. This is embarrassing. What

The case of the disappearing INBOX's - upgrade to 1.1.1 from 1.0.7 and based on Email client type
Hi, I apologize if this has already been answered. I looked for an identical message but had no luck. I'm also not convinced this is a bug or if it is a bug that I want it fixed. The problem gives me a great reason to change our configuration to something more modern. Here is the situation. Our 1.0.7 configuration has the following, and only, namespace definition. namespace private {

The code itself disappears after starting to execute the for loop
Hi all, I've a question concerning the R 3.3.1 version. I have a long code that I used to run on versions earlier to the 3.3.1 version, and when I copied the code to the R console, I can still see the code while the loop is executing , along with the output printed after each iteration of the loop. Now, on the 3.3.1 version, after I copy the code to the console, it disappears and I only see
