AD DC as KVM guest on file server host?
The most dramatic disadventage of kvm guest is block device I/O, so I
wouldn't recommend to virtualize file server if it is not necessary.
In my case on host ntpd configured as source for virtual dc, and bind9
configured as type=slave for zones hosted on dc, (make shure that srv
records in _msdcs.mysambadomain.local are resolving when virtual dc is
down) and smbd fileserver with

Dovecot,nfs or memory indexing
...eated on nfs sometimes get crushed and I
need to delete indexes in case of
fetching mails ( I see mails on hd but when telnet on host and make stat I
don't see any).
Does version 1.1.x correct this errors ? And what is better to use : nfs or
memory indexing ?
Can someone point me adventages and disadventages of using both solutions?
Best regards,
Sebastian

AD DC as KVM guest on file server host?
Is kvm I/O realy disadventage? I use samba file server as kvm guest (LVM
storage pool) in some setups and disn't notice any problems. Sequential
read/write speed isn't noticeably different from non-virtualized samba
host. Did I miss something and should expect sudden trouble?

Some questions about hfsc
I have been looking at the hfsc for some time as a replacement or at a
class that can be used like htb. But I seem to have run into a problem.
With htb classes it is easy to make three or more levels of priority for a
connection. All you need to do is to make classes and give them different
prio levels. But it seems like you can only define a real-time bandwidth
and a link sharing bandwidth.

[Feature Request] Add (and check against) IP to known_hosts even when domain is used to connect
...ect to the server running the service by using its respective dns
name (i.e. if I'd like to ssh into the server running the mailserver I'd
just type ssh username at mailserver.mydomain.com
Until now it sounds like something easy to accomplish with the Alias
feature. *But* this has a few disadventages to me:
- It requires a client side configuration which would need to be synced
between multiple clients (i.e. laptop, pc)
- It requires to make a change (and resync to all my devices) this
config when I move a service to another server instead of just changing
the DNS settings which are automa...

use 16 GB ECC Ram on this server, all modules are the same (speed,
manufacuer - Kingston, etc).
Here are my questions:
1. o you know what disadventages this could make on server installation
2. what should I modify in server configuration to solve this problem?
