Disabling IPv6 with NetworkManager
Hello,
Simple question, I'd like to know whether it's possible to disable IPv6
with NetworkManager only (over command line)?
I am aware of:
* echo "net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1" >
/etc/sysctl.d/disableipv6.conf
* sysctl -p
But doing it with NM would be way easier to remember.

firefox slow on 5.6
I have updated to 5.6 - GREAT job guys...
when I do "host slashdot.org" for example it comes back immediately.
when I enter slashdot.org on firefox it says "Looking up slashdot.org"
for a LONG time like 15 or 20 seconds
before continuing.
I have set network.dns.disableIPv6 true.
Any idea why firefox is so slow?

Simplest (static?) build & config for loopback access?
...uite well, but I'm not sure about 3 things:
1) Initially Dovecot would not respond to Thunderbird ("Could not
connect to server localhost; the connection was refused"). Eventually, a
"Trying ::1..." in the telnet log (see below) made me find hidden pref
"network.dns.disableIPv6" and set it to FALSE. Which solves the problem
-- but is this really needed, or have I done something wrong?
2) The Dovecot I built on OS X 10.4 appears to work fine when copied on
another Mac running 10.5. Now, I'd love to avoid installing developer
tools on both machines, but I fear...

work-around on ipv6 samba 4 internal dns
you can disable ipv6 at a machine level
echo net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 > /etc/sysctl.d/disableipv6.conf
which I did.

IPv6 has been disable on those server with this method
(wiki.debian.org/DebianIPv6#How_to_turn_off_IPv6) => /echo
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6=1 > /etc/sysctl.d/disableipv6.conf/
They don' t server any printer or file share, configuration file include
only "global" section.
