Codebook verification
Is there a utility available that will dump the codebook information for a given Vorbis file. This would be useful to compare my own implementation against as a benchmark. Actually, a utility that would dump all of the Vorbis metadata would be quite useful as a development tool.

Block sizes
For the Vorbis file I'm using to develop my decoder, I've read the Ogg header at the start of the file, and now I'm reading the Vorbis identification header. Everything checks out fine until I get to the block size byte (offset 28 starting at the packet type field). The byte value here is 184, which is a bit pattern of: 1011 1000. The low order 4 bits are 8. Squaring it gives

How to do network emulation on incoming traffic?
...+---------+ | Linux |-----------| Windows | | Server | LAN | Client | +--------+ +---------+ And I want the LAN to look like a satellite link, with delay, jitter, packet loss, and (asymmetric) rate limiting in both directions. (If you care, I''m trying to emulate a DirecWay satellite link for a feasibility test. The parameters are ~350+/-35 ms delay each way, 75 kbit/s uplink, 550 kbit/s downlink. The latter takes from a multi-megabyte "fair usage" bucket that refills at 50 kbit/s. I don''t have good packet loss numbers, so I''m going to st...

Codebook boundaries
Do codebooks always start at byte boundaries, or can they start at arbitrary bit positions after the first codebook?
