Problems with rsync with dirctories with spaces in the name
Hi guys I have read read the why's and whyfores and howto's and whento's about posting for help, but I'm not sure whether this has already been addressed - plenty other Win/spaces-in-dir-names issues have been. I was running rsync to copy stuff off of a Windows disk onto a Windows disk on another machine via Linux - Mdk 9.1 rsync - (rsync-2.5.7-0.1.92mdk) , when I first

Profiles and automatic drive mappings
...chines with RH 7.3 and Samba 2.2.5 The problem I'm having is my logon scripts contain a drive map to the user's home directory: net use H: \\server01\dave$ That works great for the 98 machines, but the 2000 machines map H: and Z: to \\server01\dave$ The 2000 machines also write a profile dirctory in that share, and copy the entire desktop contents to it each time the user logs off. For most of the users, this isn't a problem, but some users have a gig of video files on their desktop, and it writing all that crap to the sever is not necessary and slow. How do I make samba stop automatic...

question about modification of dd_parent_obj during COW
...esytem mounted on /myzfs, which contains 2 subdirs(A and B). If we do the following steps: 1) create a snapshot named /myzfs at now. 2) rename /myzfs/A to /myzfs/A1. I think the directory objects of /myzfs/A and /myzfs will be COW''d during the rename operation. Now we can access dirctory B by specifing either "/myzfs/B " or "/myzfs at now/B". The problems are: 1) What is the parent of B? will "dd_parent_obj" of B be changed during the COW of dirctory object /myzfs? 2) If we remove /myzfs/B thereafter, will "dd_parent_obj" of o...

msvcp80.dll doesn't work
Error file begins: Unhandled exception: unimplemented function msvcp80.dll.??0?$basic_ifstream at DU?$char_traits at D@std@@@std@@QAE at PAU_iobuf@@@Z called in 32-bit code (0x7b83aa52). I downloaded a new copy of this and placed it in the /fakedlls dirctory, where it replaced what was there, but it still doesn't work. The site I d/l'd the file from gave the impression that there is a lot of trouble with this dll, even in Windows. Trying to run Sonnet Lite (Sonnet 13.55) but cannot due to this dll. Suggestions? --doug -- Blessed are th...

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck. I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer. How...

[Sieve] Unable to fileinto subfolders
Hello again list! I am configuring a server running Dovecot 2.2.15 (Pigeonhole 0.4.6), and I am having an issue with Sieve scripts where I cannot sort messages into a subfolder of a mailbox. An email which is matched by the following script: require "fileinto"; if header :contains "Subject" "[SORT ME]" { fileinto "INBOX.Sorted"; } Yields the following

Cisco 79xx XML Apps (was: Re: Cisco Directory Format)
Do you know where to find clear developers' guides (with some examples) for developing apps that run *on* Cisco 79xx phones (especially the 7970)? Examples that can run against Asterisk (not CallManager) with SIP firmware (not SCCP), and/or LDAP directories (or other open servers) would be best. How is it possible to have the dovecot.rawlog-directory outside the mail_location? A link to another directory is not because it is checked in rawlog.c S_ISDIR to directory.

[Sieve] Unable to fileinto subfolders
...ip] >namespace inbox { > type = private > separator = / > prefix = > inbox = yes Your path does not exist. You use INBOX.Sorted in your sieve script but have set / as separator in the namespace config. Sieve expects a directory "INBOX.Sorted" in your maildir, the dirctory probably exists as "INBOX" with a subdirectory "Sorted" inside. Changeing the fileinto in the sieve script to "INBOX/Sorted" ahould sort things out. regards - christian

Is Server-side GPO Configuration possible? (for logon script)
...-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9). You can configure your stuff and then copy the content from one DC to a new one. But reset the ACLs afterwards! If it's not the Default domain policy, I think it's not possible to script this on *nix side an easy way. You need to create directory entries, set dirctory ACLs etc. Regards, Marc

Browsing on WfW
...ad only = yes guest ok = no For example the directory "/es130065/bocad/grpdata/cam/ncfiles/3000" has two subdirectories named "171808-1" and "171808-2". Under 171808-1 there are several files located, which could be browsed by all machines. The dirctory 171808-2 contains additional subdirectories named e.g."unt" and "obt". Under these subdirectories all files are invisible, but only on WfW Clients. At the moment we use samba-1.9.16p11, but I have tested samba-1.9.16p9 and samba-1.9.17p3, too, with the same result. (Fwd) vfs_recycle and create mode 770
...is created the vfs recycle uses the rights 700, and i have found no way around it (maybe editing recycle.h or vfs.h, but i don't think im good enough). The Problem is: User A is deleting a directory. This directory is the being created and the file is being moved to that place. But then the dirctory is created with 700. User B is deleting a subdirectory within that directory created from User A but isn't allowed to do so and therefore the files will be purged. How can I change the create mode to 770. My thoughts till now: force create/directory mode helps nothing, think it's hidden...
