Problems with rsync with dirctories with spaces in the name
Hi guys
I have read read the why's and whyfores and howto's and whento's about
posting for help, but I'm not sure whether this has already been addressed -
plenty other Win/spaces-in-dir-names issues have been.
I was running rsync to copy stuff off of a Windows disk onto a Windows disk
on another machine via Linux - Mdk 9.1 rsync - (rsync-2.5.7-0.1.92mdk) ,

Profiles and automatic drive mappings
Hello,
I have a mixed network of 98 and 2000 machines with RH 7.3 and Samba 2.2.5
The problem I'm having is my logon scripts contain a drive map to the user's home directory:
net use H: \\server01\dave$
That works great for the 98 machines, but the 2000 machines map H: and Z: to \\server01\dave$
The 2000 machines also write a profile dirctory in that share, and copy the entire desktop

question about modification of dd_parent_obj during COW
>From the online document of ZFS On-Disk Specification, I found there is a field named "dd_parent_obj" in dsl_dir_phys_t. will this field be modified or kept unchanged during snapshot COW?
For example, consider a ZFS filesytem mounted on /myzfs, which contains 2 subdirs(A and B). If we do the following steps:
1) create a snapshot named /myzfs at now.
2) rename /myzfs/A to

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck.
I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory
on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a
Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer
configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the
Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer.

user are able to access "/" partition.
Hi All.
We have a samba server at our location. We are facing out with some
issue. User who have the account on the server are able to access "/"

I have tried to add an extra line In Home sharing, which is "path = %H",
this lined solved my issue, but gave other issue. After implementing
this line under Home share, I am not able to open any other user's

Browsing on WfW
Dear All,
we have shared a directory which includes several subdirectories from a
Unix server. Browsing the subdirectories on an Windows 3.11 Client leads
to an unestimated result. All files in the second subdirectory-level are
invisible. The files in the first subdirectory-level could be accessed
normally. This is only a problem on WfW Clients, browsing the
directories on a NT host leads to no

(Fwd) vfs_recycle and create mode 770
I'd like to use the recycle as a per machine recycler using the option
'name = .recycle/%m' (because we just use some usernames
without passwords, and not because of the adminstrators abilties, but for a better
workflow with a lot of different projects and people working on them.)
But if a directory is created the vfs recycle uses the rights 700, and i have found
no way around it

missing libvirt-sock and libvirt-bin after compile libvirt 1.2.6
Good morning there,
I compiled and installed libvirt latest version 1.2.6, previously I have
apt-get install libvirt-bin, which should be virsh --version: 0.9.8.
after apt-get purge libvirt-bin, I compile the libvirt 1.2.6 and installed
it, when configure, I did:
./configure --prefix=/usr --localstatedir=/var --sysconfdir=/etc
--with-esx=yes
I have compiled qemu and installed too, and make a

Listing dirctories and shares works with both samba servers.
My question is: which options in the smb.conf file are used by
libsmbclient (and which options could be wrong in my case)?
I've listed the (in my eyes) important options below...
