Survival Analysis Daily Time-Varying Covariate but Event Time Unknown
Help! I am unsure if I can analyze data from the following experiment. Fish were placed in a tank at (t=0) Measurements of Carbon Dioxide were taken each day for 120 days (t=0,...120) A few fish were then randomly pulled out of the tank at different days, killed and examined for the presence of a disease T= time of examination in days from start (i.e. 85th day), E = 0/1 for nonevent/event My problem has been linking all the Carbon...

covariates in nlmer function
I am trying to explore nlmer by running some nlme examples from Pinheiro & Bates (2000). I do not seem to find information how to specify fixed effects covariates to nlmer models. Specifically, I tried to run the "Carbon Dioxide Uptake" example from p. 368 onwards in the PB200 book. The model without fixed effects covariates runs well but how to tell nlmer to include Type and Treatment similar to the nlme model on p. 374 in the PB2000 book? Or is this something that has not been implemented yet? regards, Kari Ruohon...

Showing time progression on (triangle) plots
Hi, I have made some nice triangle plots showing the projected airborne, landborne and oceanborne fraction of anthropogenic emitted carbon dioxide at 10 year intervals for the next century. Currently all ten points on my plot are identical so I can't distinguish between them. I would like to be able to track the trend as the century progresses. How can I show the time progression on the plot (I was thinking a gradual colour, charac...

JOB: Statistical and Mathematical Modelling in the Energy and Environment Sectors
...ned company that undertakes high-quality science-based consultancy, research and software development for industry and governments around the world in the energy and environment sectors. Statistical and mathematical modelling of complex systems (ranging from geological storage facilities for carbon dioxide to the graphite cores of Advanced Gas-cooled Reactors) represents an important part of the company's activities. We would like to hear from individuals interested in joining Quintessa's office in Henley-on-Thames to contribute to our work in these areas. We are looking for someone with a...

Pareto frontier plots in three dimensions
...m scenarios and then consolidating the costs across 5-dimensions. At this stage, normally only 3-dimensions are used: financial cost in $, greenhouse cost in kg CO2e, and depletion cost in J HHV. NOx in kg and land-use change in m2 are also supported but are not typically invoked. (CO2e = carbon dioxide equivalent, HHV = higher heating value, NOx = mono-nitrogen oxides.) These results are collected in a text file and then read into an R data frame: leta scenario.name fin ghg nox dep luc 1 + reference energy system 0 0.000 0 0.00 0...
