vif0.0/veth0 or eth0
When does vif0.0 get created? Is there some shell magic? I''m trying to figure out how to do a similar peth1/veth1 split for eth1. -- Nicholas Lee http://stateless.geek.nz gpg 8072 4F86 EDCD 4FC1 18EF 5BDD 07B0 9597 6D58 D70C _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list Xen-devel@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-devel

No video display, SuSE kernel-xen-2.6.11.4-21.7
...t3.ko paradox:~ # None of this is causing me any great problem because the machine is sitting in a server rack in another room. I can ssh to it or use the serial console. It will confuse the hell out of a new user though! Does anyone have any suggests as to what to try to debug/fix this? Is Linux based Router feasible
Hi, I''ve a local LAN consisting of about 150 machines. I''m using a Linux machine as the gateway machine which inturn connects to two different ISPs. My question is can a Linux based machine match the performance of a hardware based routers provided by Cisco,... OR is my decision to go for a Linux based solution is a wrong one?. Is there so much difference between these

Building Xen Linux on SuSE 9.3
After many unsuccessful attempts at getting Xen 3.0 to run with any level of stability, I''ve decided to return to Xen 2. I''m currently trying to build the kernel under SuSE 9.3 and getting the following error messages: LD init/built-in.o LD .tmp_vmlinux1 arch/xen/kernel/built-in.o(.text+0x85b): In function `ctrl_if_suspend'': : undefined reference to

SuSE 9.3 domU /sbin/ifup workaround
Hi all I have a SuSE 9.3 domU. It has a eth0 interface, corresponding to some vif interface in the dom0. Running ifup eth0 doesn''t seem to work. This means I don''t get any network. It seems that /sbin/ifup relies upon /sbin/getcfg but getcfg does not seem to find the right configuration for the eth0 device. A attached a patch below with a work around for this.

Wiki - where to add user documentation?
Hi I would like to add some documentation to the xensource wiki. In particular I would like to add some notes on setting up firewalling on a Xen machine using a SuSE 9.3 dom0. (this is the Distribution I am familiar with) I can''t see an appropriate place linked off the front page to add this stuff. Also I can''t edit the front page itself to add a new catagory because it is

UPS for Asterisk
I have several Linux machines some running on really old hardware and some on brand new, some run old distros (RedHat 6) and some new (FC3 or CentOS). All of them experienced power failure more then once, none of them has failed to load after a reboot. BUT, Asterisk is running your PBX. Your PBX isn't your proxy server, it isn't your web server, mail server, firewall, or whatever

xen on suse 9.3 and software raid
Has anyone had issues starting xen0 on a md? I have installed it a few times now w/ and w/o raid. Anytime I have a raid1 mirror, Xen panics on boot when trying to mount /. It gets past waiting for /dev/md0 to appear. John _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

custom network script for SuSE boxes
Hello all, This is a custom network script I have been working on, mainly for a SuSE 9.3 box, but I am hoping other people may find it useful. It is based on the existing network script in /etc/xen/scripts/ . The existing script, by default, uses eth0 and xen-br0 for the device and bridge respectively. The custom script just takes one parameter, say eth0. It move eth0 to one side by renaming it
