Changing default browser in options()
I usually startup R from within several directories (usually where the programs or data of interest are). I like to use a small web browser called dillo to browse help files. However, by default R looks for mozilla, so I have to type every single R session: > options(browser='dillo') Is there anyway I can change this globally? thanks, J.

Adding browsers
...edora has spoiled me : I install almost every browser I can, and generally keep half a dozen or more open, mostly with several tens of tabs open. Iow, I use browsers as I used to use books, back in the Carboniferous when I had a desk in the stacks. Re: Getting WIne to see hidden folders in Linux?
Sorry to jump off-topic but you may be the person I need to talk to. I'm a new user of Linux/Wine (but have a ton of computer experience). I installed ImgBurn under Wine today and it appears to run correctly but does not actually write to the cd Is it ok if I pm you with a bit more detail? Thanks, Lou

Making Wine Firefox the default browser
OK, I see posts all over the place for the opposite problem -- people want wine apps to open their linux default browser. But I have the opposite problem. I use a piece of software (GradeQuick) that only runs on Windows (and Mac sometimes when it feels like it). But it runs by first opening the web page which called it (www.edline.net), and it will not run through Linux. So when I click,

Ajax Scaffold Generator for Rails Released
I just released a whole new version of the Ajax Scaffold Generator (for Ruby on Rails). The generator creates a scaffold page like the typical rails one, except adding, editing and deleting are all done inline. The generated scaffold is valid XHTML strict and fully styled right out of the box. Check out the demo: http://ajaxscaffold.height1percent.com/ And the how-to:
