Problem with Digikam and libgphoto2 after latest update
Hi, I have CentOS 7 with KDE on my workstation. I'm using the CR repo. I had to remove Digikam to be able to do the latest update (1 GB of updates... wow). Here's what happens when I try to reinstall it. # yum install digikam ... --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Package: digikam-4.10.0-6.el7.x86_64 (epel) Requires: libgphoto2_port.so.10(LIBGPHOTO2_5_0)(64bit)...

digikam and mp3 sound on RHEL
Hi All; after years of running free Linux distros I've finally come to a place where I must have solid stability for my work laptop so I've purchased RHEL Workstation. I like it well enough - however I'd like to install digikam and get my system to play mp3's. I'm thinking I could get both of these from a centos repository. What do you'all think? If so, could someone point me to the correct repo(s) and the packages I'd need for playing mp3's? Thanks in advance

digikamimageplugins from Karan's repo
Hi, I've just installed digikam and digikamimageplugins from Karan's repo. The digikam package works nicely, however if I try to use any of the plugins from digikamimageplugins, digikam crashes complaining about unresolvable symbols, for example: digikam: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib64/kde3/digikamimageplugin_adju...

It looks like the problem is solved. I just installed Digikam, and it went fine, without any extra -compat packages. -- Microlinux - Solutions informatiques durables 7, place de l'?glise - 30730 Montpezat Site : https://www.microlinux.fr Blog : https://blog.microlinux.fr Mail : info at microlinux.fr T?l. : 04 66 63 10 32

Weird update problem
For some time now updates on my CentOS box had skipped exiv2. Yesterday I decided to do something about it, so I removed it - together with gwenview, digikam and, IIRC, libexiv2. That sounded reasonable, so I accepted the removal, then re-installed gwenview and digikam, which, of course, pulled in the two exiv2 packages. The version number of exiv2 sounded familiar, but I assumed that it would bring in the best-match version, and continued. This...

Graphical frontend for gphoto2? (Handling photo cameras in XFCE)
...the "latest" version: 0.1.14, dating from december 2006. Which makes me wonder whether this piece of software is perfect or abandoned... Before launching into building GTKam on my own, I'd like to ask: what graphical frontends for digital cameras can you use *besides* GThumb and Digikam (that is: if you're using neither GNOME nor KDE)? Is there some obscure GIMP plugin that I might have overseen? Cheers, Niki

anybody else had this problem since the CR updates?
...h. > Adwaita is a good choice in that regard. > I also run Mate under CentOS 7 and installed a couple of applications over the past two days, but no OS update. I just realized that geany lost its menu bar and tool icons. Not sure if any of the apps may have caused this but they were shotwell, digikam, inkscape, gimp, tilde and joe together with an update to geany-plugins*. Downgrading the geany-plugins* package restored the above.

CentOS 7, KDE, Dolphin and MTP support
Hi, It looks like KDE's file manager Dolphin doesn't support MTP under CentOS 7. When I plug in an MTP device like my Nikon camera or an Android phone, Digikam shows its content OK, but Dolphin seems to ignore it. For now, my custom CentOS 7 + KDE desktop meets about 99 % of my needs. Now I've decided to tackle the remaining 1 %. Yesterday for example, I managed to correct the missing RAR support in the Ark archive manager, so I fetched the SRPM and...
