Design questions on creating digg.com-like URLs (are they considered RESTful?)
Hi everyone, I''m working on creating a site that functions similar to
digg.com (please no "no more digg clones" remarks please! :) ). One
thing I really like about digg is there URLs are very nice to read and I
would like to emulate that without having a lot of actions spread out
all over my application.
So in my app I have three main resources:

anything rails based app like pligg or digg out there ?
I am wanting to do something like digg but internally at our company
and am looking for a rails based starting point. There is something
out there called pligg which seems pretty good, but it is PHP based and
I expect to be making quite a few changes/additions, so would really
prefer a project based on rails !
- hope to hear from you...

Tracking who is online and what they are doing (Digg Spy)
...ine? Should I just add a
filter to all my controllers to track the last time each user commits an
action? Then I can deduce that whoever is active in the last 5 mins is
online.
Additionally, I can be more sophisticated and track the actual actions
each user commits. So I can have features like Digg Spy.
Or is there an already pre-built modules/tutorials that I can follow.
Thank you,
Sharkie

Almost 300 hours of videos about Free and Open Source Software
...s event (also online are the videos from last year). It's almost 300 hours in Ogg Theora. I think it's worth a mention in theora.org website. It's a shame there's no subtitles, for most of the lectures are not in english... the english ones are really good, though.
I posted also to digg. If you want to help it make the front-page, please digg it up:

boxplot knowing Q1, Q3, median, upper and lower whisker value
Dear list,
I am using a external program that outputs Q1, Q3, median, upper and lower whisker values for various datasets simultaneously in a tab delimited format. After importing this text file into R, I would like to plot a boxplot using these given values and not the original series of data points, i.e. not using something like boxplot(mydata).
Is there an easy way for doing this? If I am not

Is there a timezone/daylight savings time safe way to get to the beginning of the day in cut.POSIXt so that invalid dates are not sent to the other functions? Alternatively, can as.POSIXct.POSIXlt be made to handle these manually manipulated dates correctly?
