R postscript generation error (lines versus points) (PR#5285)
...left hand side is perfect. Output to other devices such as pdf is perfect. Possibly this reflects a different scaling being applied when points() or lines() are selected. One reason I found this is that I use a number of scripts in R to plot and multiplot data sets from x-ray and neutron powder diffraction analysis (and Rietveld fitting of this data in particularl). In these points() is used to plot the data and lines() to plot the refinement from the analysis. After upgrading I found these were misaligned. The example was created to mimic the problem. %%% Example follows: dtwoth <- seq(fr...

Rsync on webserver
Here is the problem. I have a primary and a secondary web server. I want to sync the home directory paths on the primary server with the secondary server. I am fairly ignorant to rsync and wondering what is the best method of doing this and how would I call the procedure from say a "perl script". Both Servers are FreeBSD 4.2 and there are actually two directorys I want to sync 1)

important caveat with Rsync on NT and dayligt savings time
Hi, just a small warning about something that has, like we experienced just last weekend, great consequences. We rsync more than 20 Netware servers through a mapping on an NT machine to central Rsync destination servers (also NT). Last weekend our clock changed to Daylight Savings Time. It appears that NT changes the file stamps on NTFS volumes accordingly (Q129574 on their suppor site). This

Win2k joining a Samba domain
Hi, Having managed to get far enough with the config to get a win2k box to connect to a Samba v3.0 share where the Samba machine's backend is based in LDAP, I cannot now add this win2k machine to the domain. Can anyone give me an example of how to set up an account within the LDAP server that has sufficient rights to allow the machine to join my Samba domain? Regards, Graham --

integration of a discrete function
Dear R list I am looking for a function in R that computes the integration of a discrete curve, such as a power spectrum, in a specified interval (in my case, that would be 'power in a certain frequency band'). I found only functions, such as 'integrate', that perform adaptive quadrature on analytic functions, and not on a curve specified as a set of (x,y) pairs. I have the

[LLVMdev] Postponing more passes in LTO
In the future could you please do some sort of visualization of your data, or at least provide the raw data in a machine-readable format so that others can do so? It is incredibly easy to come to incorrect conclusions when looking at lists of numbers because at any given moment you have a very localized view of the dataset and are prone to locally pattern-match and form a selection bias that
