[LLVMdev] no differnce in the execution time between seq. and parallel programs
Hi all please can any one help me to find the reason?? i am using LLVM to execute two programs both of them was exactly similar but the difference was the first one is a sequential program has three functions. In the second program i am trying to execute it by giving each function to thread (three thread work in parallel way) ,but when i am trying to calculate the execution time i found

[LLVMdev] no differnce in the execution time between seq. and parallel programs
> I would be happy if you give me an insight into what could have caused the > difference. No idea. Maybe you forgot to turn optimizations on when compiling? Otherwise you are going to have to send in your programs along with an explanation of how you compiled them exactly (exact sequence of commands) both for gcc and LLVM. Ciao, Duncan.

differnce between lme and proc mixed
Hey, I was using lme and proc mixed in SAS to run a empirical bayesian model. I used the same method for both lme and proc mixed (the default REML). I got very similar, but not identical results. I am just wondering if anyone knows what the differneces may be between proc mixed and lme. Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks, Liz

date & time manipulation- R 2.15.1 windows 7
Hi, I wanted to learn how to solve a date and time manipulation where i can do the following two 1. difference of two dates eg (differnce between 5th jan 2013 and 1st jan 2013) 2.Suppose i have week number of the year, i want to know if i can find out the day it refers to eg( say week 2 of 2013 would be 6th jan 2013 and the day is sunday) i need my result to tell me that its the 6th of jan 2013 as well as the day (sunday...

Plotting a linear model object with R 2.0 for Mac OS X
I'm using R for Mac OS X Aqua GUI version 2.0 When using plot() with a linear model object, the plot of the LSR line does not appear. I get the residual plots, the Normal Q-Q plots and Cook's Differnce plot, just not the first plot with the fitted line. I just get an empty Quartz window, with no graph displayed. I've even tried to use plot.lm() and plotting a glm object, but I get the same results. Has anybody run into this problem? Justin Manjourides

How to measure the significant difference between two time series
...time series datasets, they are several years vegetation indices (about 50 data points per year) sampled from different station. These indices have similar dynamics with seasonal change. My questions are, 1) How can I compare the difference among the indices, and how can I say there is significant differnce between two time series. They don't have the same values in the same date, but they may have the similar tendency and change curves? 2) I also want to compare the interannual variation of the vegetation index in the same station. Of course, the index can be separated into several sub-series,...

Should I host a DFS share through Samba to control directory access? 4.If I need Winbind should I store the group information in LDAP? 5.What is the differnce between ?with winbind and ?with winbind-auth-challenge? declare and include classes
..., I found some sentence which confuses me: "Since include wasn’t designed for use with parameterized classes" I know you can''t include a resource, so a class eith parameters must be declared. But, If I don''t use params, I can include the class... so, what are the big differnces between declare and include? why are these files being transfered
Setup: Redhat linux 7.3 rrsync: version 2.5.6 protocol version 27 I'm trying to employ rsync in conjuction with with a cvs setup. The setup employs a bufffer where changes are made then moved to a checked out module from cvs repository and finally any cvs actions necessary are done. So far just testing this out with some copies of both directory trees. Right now the files in both are

How to analyse simple study: Placebo-controlled (2 groups) repeated measurements (ANOVA, ANCOA???)
Hallo! I have two groups (placebo/verum), every subject is measured at 5 times, the first time t0 is the baseline measurement, t1 to t4 are the measurements after applying the medication (placebo or verum). The question is, if there is a significant difference in the two groups and how large the differnce is (95% confidence intervals). Let me give sample data # Data ID<-factor(rep(1:50,each=5)) # 50 subjects GROUP<-factor(c(rep("Verum", 115), rep("Placebo", 135))) TIME<-factor(rep(paste("t",0:4,sep=""), 50)) set.seed(1234) Y<-rnorm(250) # to have...

How to get time differences in consistent units?
...by using tz = GMT for everything which is what I've tried, and hence that's why the times are shown as 1pm and noon depending on whether it's NZST or NSDT. It appears to me that while the dates are known to the software as GMT, they are displayed in local time equivalent but before the differnce between them is calculated, that converson happens again whether we like it or not. Evidently, that's not what happens when as.numeric() is used before calculating the difference since in that case (with my data), the difference is always a whole number of days which is appropriate. Is my ex...

oh323/g729 and DTMF
Hi everyone, Could somebody enlighten me on this one? I have configured my asterisk to run on oh323 using codec g729. Incoming calls are working okay. But the thing I want to work is say pressing some options, say dial 1 to go to voicemail or dial a certain number to dial a specific extension. I have a config for this and tried calling from a normal PSTN and is working. But i just can't seem

Query regarding initramfs
Hi 1. Is it possible to load an initrd from initramfs ? How would you do this if the initramfs is being loaded dynamically in the kernel (ie having the initramfs as initrd ) Because in this case, you will say root = /dev/initrd and specify 'initrd' as your 'initramfs source file' How will you specify the second initrd source? Thanks Rachita.

Can't install domUs in 5.3 dom0
Hello. I can't install 5.3 domUs in 5.3 dom0 with the very same /etc/xen/domU.cfg and remote domU.ks that I've used in Centos 5.1. The only I've changed is Centos version (including new 5.3 xen kernel and initrd images). Results are that anaconda can't assing networki configuration to network interface (probably because of not seeing it) and such error messages in xend.log:
