howto: plot location, web search
...me to preset the size of a subsequent
r.plot(x, y)
but i've been unable to find documention on related aspects, such as
programatic control of the plot window location on the monitor, or
programatic resizing of a plot once it is generated. Are these
possible?
In general I've found it diffcult to use google to search for answers
because "R" is not a very effective keyword. Are there tricks to
googling for R info? And If a start a web accessible html page for R,
what keywords can I include that would make it easier for search
engines to index so that other R-folk could find it?...

help with a survplot
...do not like doing it, because it doesn't add any valuable information
and because it doesn't discriminate between died and censored.
Nevertheless, is there someone able to tell me how to do it? Currently
the only way I know to it is using the text() function, but this would
make much more diffcult drawing the other annotations, I believe.
Probably a grid viewport could serve the purpose, but i still don't know
grid.
Thank you so much for the attention paid.

[LLVMdev] bytecode reader assertion failure
...e following information from opt:
(gdb) print Result
$7 = (class llvm::Constant *) 0x96ad9d0
(gdb) call Result->dump()
[41 x sbyte *] zeroinitializer
(gdb) print hasImplicitNull(TypeID)
$5 = true
Does anyone have any insight into what the problem is or how to go about
fixing it? It seems diffcult to get context for what is going on,
since the bytecode has not yet been fully read. Any help would be
greatly appreciated!
The full output of the assertion failure is given below:

Linux/Windows Domain Controller
...investigated what might be the issue an found:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Windows_2012_Server_compatibility#2012_functional_level_or_above
Is it really impossible to join the existing domain on dc01 and dc02?
Sadly we have some really old scripts laying around and in the short
term it is diffcult to relay only on linux dcs.

I have a class like Parent above, that has three collections
(one-to-many) like Child above, yet I am having a very diffcult time
trying to get code like that I have outlined working.
Can anyone think of anything I could be missing that might allow me to
replace the collection, or maybe someone is aware of a reason that I
cannot do this?
(If the latter, why would ''validates_asssociated'' exist?)

Advanced Menu features
Hi All,
I hope to find some time to work on the Advanced menu system. I
personally no longer have a need for it (changed jobs). Since I dont
want to spend time doing stuff which will not be useful, I would to
know what features you would like.
What I have in my list are
* Eliminate the need to compile each menu into its own .c32 file
* Eliminate #define constants in menu.h which impose various

A comment about R:
org/). Our web site has resources on R and I have tried, sometimes in great
earnest, to learn and understand
R. I have learned and used a number of statistical packages (well over 10)
and a number of programming
languages (over 5), and I regret to say that I have had enormous diffculties
learning and using R. I know
that R has a great fan base composed of skilled and excellent statisticians,
and that includes many people
from the UCLA statistics department. However, I feel like R is not so much
of a statistical package as much
as it is a statistical programming environment that...

A possible way to reduce basic questions

The traffic on r-help could be reduced by creating a second list where
more elementary questions are asked.
There may be other ways to partition the universe of questions

Problem with "additional" submenus
Hello all,
First off, thanks for the great work.
I have recently added "more submenus" to a functioning advanced menu
that only had one "submenu off of the main menu before" The addition of
the new submenus has caused the main menu to not function correctly and
I have been pouring over the code for several weeks and I just cannot
see the error that I have introduced. This

How to Backup and Restore MBR within Logical Volumes?
Hi All,
I have several Xen virtual machines within logical volumes using LVM2. I did
not use disk images for performance reasons.
Conventionally, if I want to clone my virtual machines, I have to dd the LV
to an image file. But this consumes a lot of time and harddisk space.
So, instead of doing that, I want to use losetup and kpartx with my logical
volumes, which contain operating systems of
