[offtopic] Cygwin.com / sources.redhat.com down?
Has anybody else noticed cygwin.com and sources.redhat.com being down?
The machine that answers to those addresses (and sourceware.org) is
refusing HTTP connections, and has been for at least 48 hours now.
Anybody here know anything about it? I haven't been able to find out
diddly-squat about it on the web...

chan_capi & Eicon Diva problem
Hello,
I have an issue getting the chan_capi module to load in asterisk cvs
from today. Plain 2.4.20 kernel with melware patches for the Eicon Diva
Server Bri card.
I load the modules with: modprobe -v divas divacapi
I load the firmware with: divactrl load -c 1 -f ETSI -vd6
Output in /var/log/messages is:
Nov 9 19:26:26 voice kernel: Eicon DIVA - DIDD table

have two versions of ruby play nice on the same box?
Hello-diddely-doo, fellow Rail-erinos!
I need to have both Ruby 1.8.2 and 1.8.4 on the same server (it''s Free
BSD, development machine is Mac OS X) and they said on IRC that this
probably _would_ yield some problems. Could someone please outline how
to have multiple versions of Ruby play nice on the same server?
Best regards,

T.38 - By reinvitation only?
...r's New Clothes" from my perspective.
As I understand it, T.38 passthru only works via a re-invite mechanism -
so two T.38 devices try talking fax and request a T.38 media stream.
Asterisk is now savvy enough to realise it can't do it, so opts out -
"Hey Guys, I don't know diddly squat about T.38, so why don't you two
just talk to eachother and leave me out of it."
That's great if you don't need to know about when the call ended, but
for those that do, I assume that it's not a viable solution.
Is my understanding correct?

MySQL pdb: pdbedit: Segmentation Fault
Hey all!
I just wanted to check in with you all to see if anyone has experienced a Segmentation Fault when running smb's smbpasswd or pdbedit to edit attributes stored in a MySQL pdb. Samba can authenticate off it, but whenever it tries to write / edit the table it just returns with a Segmentation Fault.
Any ideas? Anyone?
Thanks!

rsync, backup, Macintosh files
Hey!
I have been given the task to mirror our fileserver's filesystem onto a
secondary machine for redundancy. The first thing that came to mind was
rsync, but now I have few questions as I am far from an expert on this
matter.
Our file server is running Debian Stable. We use Samba for our Windows
users and Netatalk (AFP) for our OS X clients. The filesystem used on
the server is

MySQL passdb backend (mysql_init)?
Greetings All,
I am trying to use MySQL4 as the backend for authentication through Samba 3.0.0. When I finally got it to compile ok (damn that mysql/mysql.h) I cannot get it to work. Below you'll find the log transcript from when I try to connect with any client -- smbclient in this case. And yes, I have the MySQL-part setup correctly using the example mysql.dump from the dist and the user

I did a bunch of testing of Raw, qcow2, and LV backed VM storage circa
Fedora 19/20 and found very little difference. What mattered

samba PDC and BDC with ldap master and slave backend
Hi all !
In the samba-Howto, i was looking on informations on how to set up
both a samba PDC and a samba BDC controller with ldap backend.
I can read:
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
Do not install a Samba PDC on a OpenLDAP slave server...
Possible PDC/BDC plus LDAP configurations include:
. PDC -> LDAP master server, BDC -> LDAP slave server.

4.20.0-rc3 nouveau/Quadro P2000 Mobile: runpm causing ACPI errors, lockups
this was already debugged and there is no point in searching inside
the Firmware. It's not a firmware bug or anything.
The proper fix is to do something inside Nouveau so that we don't
upset the device and being able to runtime resume it again.
The initial thing we do inside Nouveau to cause those issues is to run
that so called "DEVINIT" script inside the vbios to initialize

Carriage Returns in files after copying
I apologize in advance if I'm wasting bandwidth with a simple question, but
I was unable to find a solution for this problem in the documentation...
I've got a set of shares set up on a SUN Enterprise 5500 using Samba 2.0.4.
In Windows NT, I map a drive to the share. When I copy a text file from
Windows NT to the SUN, editing the file in UNIX shows that ^M has been added
