Possible bug?
This morning I downloaded R-2.4.0 and install in under Windows. I customized
the installation and choose "Message translations",but I could not launch
Rgui.exe successfully( Rterm.exe worked fine). If I did't choose "Message
translations", Rgui.exe worked fine.
"Message translations" is Simplified Chinese.

vnetX interface name persistence
...side) vnetX are created when VM boots. But I'm trying to
figure out a way ti create a persistence in vnetX names. What I mean is,
say, I want to associate VMs vm0 to vnet0, vm1 to vnet1, vm2 to vnet2 and
so forth, no matter which order the VMs are booted. I looked around network
XML format, but did't find something...
Since I'm using Open vSwitch as bridge, and it is controlled by my OpenFlow
application, I can query for OF ports numbers based on port names
(interfaces names).
OVSDB can be used for such query, but the controller I'm
using, Pox, has a limited support to it (stills...

Color intervals in image.plot function
...ponding?to z value. In my case, the range of z values is between 1 and 40 and ?i'd like to fix the color in the image correspoding to?four sub-intervals of z values. For instance:
1.?1 < z < 10 : blue
2. 11 < z < 20: green
3. 21 < z < 30: yellow
4. 31 < z < 40 : red.
I did't find a suitable code to do this. Could someone please give?an advice on this matter?
Thank you.

E1 signalling pridialplan
...the Alcatel displays 0012345. Can
anybody give me a hint with the "00"'s? I think pridialplan and
prilocaldialplan are set correctly.
Another question: When a SIP phone calls to the pstn, how to set the
correct callerid? I tried SetCIDNum (0111112345) and
SetCIDNum(111112345), but it did't work.

How to prevent creation of user profiles which they don't logon locally
Hi all,
We're using NT4.0 server as a PDC.
I can easily logon the domain on Mandrake 10.1 with samba and winbind.
There is no problem with domain logons.
But sometimes some domain user profiles are created at /home/NTDOMAIN
directory even if they did't logon the computer locally or din't
access any shared resource remotelly.
How can prevent the creation of the user profiles which didn't logon
the computer locally.
All I want is the user profiles should be created if the user logons
the system locally.
My smb.conf file is below....

square polar mapping - backgrounds
Hello,
I wanted to find out more about square polar mapping, cause that whole
stuff is a bit tricky - to me - and not so easy to understand.
Searching the web did't get me any results, so I wonder what the background
of square polar mapping is.
Is it derived from some mathematical publications or just the result of a brilliant
intuition of a Vorbis programmer ? ;)
Thanks.

Parallel R expression evaluations
...rallel evaluations of R using Rserve package. As I am trying to
overcome the overhead (using Rserve) in creating new connection for each
evaluation, here I am trying using embeded R.
I tried Rf_endEmbeddedR each time after one evaluation and initializing R
for the next set of evaluation. Even that did't work.
Please suggest me possible solution if any.
Thanks in advance.

Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)
...in text mode:
Probing EDD (edd=off to disable)
I can reboot and edit the kernel commandline to add "edd=off" at the
end then it comes up all the way.
I haven't made any changes in the Nvidia drivers, because nvidia's
web site tells me it uses the same driver as the 9800GT card did.
I'm using the RPMs from elrepo, so it uses akmod to do a rebuild when
a new kernel is installed. But I didn't install a new kernel, so it
didn't get rebuilt, and I'm wondering if that's the cause of the
problem... different card works with the same driver version but may
need...

lmer: Estimated variance-covariance is singular, false convergence
...(8)
For this one, i changed the maxIter and msMaxIter up to 50000000, but
the Warning messages remained the same.
I have many "0" values for "Cover" and "Cracks" and tried to exclude
some of them in different ways (as all transects without vegetation
cover), but this did not help. The current version deals with all
transects wich have at least two plots with crevices.
The correlation Intercept/Cracks ist -1.000 for both models.
I attachet a symmary of the used data.frame, a randomly selected subset
and the summarys of cracks.lmer and cracks.lmer1 in a *.txt file

confint.lm in MASS
I don't know if this has already come up in the list or elsewhere - a
quick search did't show anything relevant - but I think it's worth of
mention. The confint.lm function in package MASS doesn't work
correctly when called on a subset of parameters. The bug, easy to fix,
is that confidence intervals are computed for all parameters anyway,
and then assigned to a matrix wh...
