Re: [Asterisk-Dev] benevolent dictatorship, or inclusive developper community?
This probably a dead horse, but this showed up on another list I read and I thought it might be of interest. respectfully to all... Dear all, I have just put online a survey addressing the topic of "good leadership in the open-source environment". Basically, my objective is to identify the personal conceptions of good leadership that reside in the minds of the contributors,

GAM model with interactions between continuous variables and factors
Hi all, I am not sure how to handle interactions with categorical predictors in the GAM models. For example what is the different between these bellow two models. Tests are indicating that they are different but their predictions are essentially the same. Thanks a bunch, > gam.1 <- gam(mortality.under.2~ maternal_age_c+ I(maternal_age_c^2)+ + s(birth_year,by=wealth) + +

Extraneous kruft [signed]
Looking through the build files I'm wondering if we can't do some clean-up and remove extraneous kruft before we release. Like the config.dbs and the README.build that talks about the config.dbs. From looking through the build setup I don't see either file actually critically needed and looks like Ralph may have come to a similar conclusion by the comments added to the README.build

Why would I choose RoR over Turbogears
I''m trying to get some answers as to why I (my company actually) would go with RoR over TurboGears. The developer staff is fluent in both Ruby and Python so that is not an issue. Rails is well into its release cycle whereas Turbogears won''t be at 1.0 until later this week. They both do essentially the same thing and they both have cool features unique to themselves

RFC: Second draft of an LLVM Community Code of Conduct
Greetings all, First off, thanks to everyone who contributed to the initial discussion thread. Judging by the responses from that thread, there seems to pretty broad interest in pursuing this. There also seem to be a few concerns. =] I'm including an updated draft based on the feedback, and I'll also try to break down the major points I've seen of discussion. Sorry for the long email,
