Installing Ruby gems on RPM-based systems
...for which no RPM is available, I'll use a utility like cpanspec to
repackage it into an RPM and install that.
Now I'm starting to work with Ruby and apparently it has its own packages
called "gems". How do people deal with making Ruby and RPM get along?
I'm trying to build Diaspora, an open source alternative to Facebook, and
it wants me to install a ton of gems. I'm working on a "disposable" machine
that I can re-image at will, so I let it use Ruby's "bundle install"
command to dump all the gems from the Ruby repositories into their system

Virtual RPM howto?
Can someone point me to a howto or an example of a virtual package?
I'm building Diaspora (the open source competitor to Facebook) and I
figured it would be handy to gather all the prereqs into a virtual package.
I'm working from these instructions, which seemed to go fine on CentOS 6:

Giving a hand to Nouveau
...uestions: what is the help I can provide, knowing I am using
Debian stable (Debian 9 Stretch at the time) with backports? As it is a
production machine, I need it to stays usable and there are some other
projects I should give some times.

Public free (libre) mailbox hosting service for everybody!

should, run such servers for everybody. For all users who want their
basic freedoms respected.
Another question to tech people: I'm not an expert in e-mail software,
so I'm not really sure setting up a server is as easy as all other
online services we get, such as Diaspora (facebook replacement),
MediaGoblin (Youtube replacement), Gitorious (git repo hosting). Is
there a technical issue preventing people from running a mail server, or
it's just a matter of having enough money to run it, and the necessary
technical skills (which many of you probably have).

5. I would recommend establishing a wiki or "CRM" system where
everybody who is registered (trusted users/whatever) can contribute;
that might help to cut back on the profusion/diaspora/melee of
information, some of which can and should be updated more frequently
and with less of a hassle than putting it into SVN/CVS.

Hello,
I registered at Wiki but can't post on it. So, I just registered on this
mailing list, just to request a new fonctionnality in HDT :
- Adding a simple benchmark test, like
https://cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php. It's useful to determine which
distro/desktop I can install on an old computer.
PS : I asked Linux Mint to add HDT to their ISO and they done it (since

so it doesn't give me this error message every time I try to copy a file to
