Unicode? Diacriticals
I just got 2.2.2 setup on a Mac OSX machine using the Samba X from the
SourceForge project. Testing showed great performance, but clients can't
access files with diacriticals in the filenames. I couldn't find anything
on how to do this with the provided configuration tool, but wonder if
there's a way to do so directly in Samba. (?)
Also, we're a small shop and I'm mapping everyone to Guest to insure
everyone can share these files. Aside from that secu...

Rd problems
Dear users,
I'm struggling with encoding issues for documenting some functions. The Rd format is incradible simple, however, because I'm dealing with diacritic strings, I seted up encoding in several Rd files as latin1. Under R, using the checks available in the package 'tools it performs pretty well. But when check the package as cran, I got several encoding issues. Have any one

umlauts in Rd files
Hi
I'm having difficulty following the advice in section 2.7 of R-exts.
In one of my packages, there is a function called mobius().
I want to refer to it in the Rd file as the M??bius function, and to
illustrate the
M??bius inversion formula (just to be explicit: this is "Mobius" but
with two dots over the second letter).
R-exts section 2.7 gives

Password complexity checks and local users...
AFAI've understood 'samba-tool domain passwordsettings' set domain
password settings, while the GPO equivalent settings is for the client
(windows client and server os).
Currently i've enabled password complexity checks server side:
root at vdcsv1:~# samba-tool domain passwordsettings show
Password informations for domain 'DC=ad,DC=fvg,DC=lnf,DC=it'

Rsync 3.0.0pre8 and Mac OS X
Hi,
I tried Rsync 3.0.0pre8 on my mac running os X 10.5.
I was very pleased about the --iconv feature, as i have to sync some
LINUX-machines and I had really trouble with some filenames.
But I found one strange thing in connection with the mac.
First of all, the translation between the LINUX ISO-8859-15 and the
mac ut-8 works (nearly) perfect.
As I live in Germany, we have often filenames

[PATCH] Re: Samba 4.1.17 classic update w/LDAP - parsing error
I have tested the patch against 4.3.1 compiled from sources but it does
not seem to work. Either I did something wrong while compiling, or the
patch dosen't fix the problem.

g723 to wav conversion
hi everybody,
I try to record a call with *1 - one touch record feature in g723 format.
exten => _00[1-9].,1,Set(TOUCH_MONITOR_FORMAT=g723)
exten => _00[1-9].,n,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN}@ext-sip-account,,wW)
I have chosen g723 format because in my

After pressing *1 sequence I have two

Indic language display problem (character order)
I am having trouble inputing and displaying Bengali script in software running under wine. Like other Indic languages, Bengali has vowels and other diacritics that fall on either side of the previous consonant (i.e. does not follow 'normal' latin script sequential character order). These vowels are not being displayed correctly -- they follow the typed character order, not the correct

[patch] improve reliability of Inflector.transliterate
Hello,
I''d like to ask for some feedback on a patch I just submitted.
The patch improves the reliability of
ActiveSupport::Inflector.transliterate, which currently does not
handle many characters from Danish, Swedish, Icelandic, Polish and
other European languages.
This is because the current code relies upon UTF-8 decomposition, but
many common characters do not in fact decompose to

[PATCH] Re: Samba 4.1.17 classic update w/LDAP - parsing error
Well, since I have no answer from Debian in order of patch, I'm trying
to do the import using group names with no special character at all.
Strange thing - it dosen't work.
I have also removed all diacritics from displayname attributes for all
groups - dosen't help either.
So i'm not sure, what the problem really is.

[PATCH] Re: Samba 4.1.17 classic update w/LDAP - parsing error
Hallo,
I have two news. The first one: the patch probably works. Second: there
is another bug.
When I encountered the bug again after patching, I have raised debug
level and figured out that the problem is with user "guest" - he was in
our old domain, however samba-tool probably creates him automatically
and then couldn't import him.
So, please fix the tool so that it ignores such
