DiabloII
For those that have managed to get Diablo II to work.
I have attempted get Diablo working, however have run
into a DirectX not available error.
How did others get this to work. I have a small how-to,
but it doesn't help with this.

TOO MANY ERRORS
Ok, I've tried wine with about 10 different aplications and it always
returns SOME kind of error... and it closes... the only one I can run
without ANY problem is DiabloII.... not even half life runs on wine...
Using wineX didn't solve any problem.. in fact I think it it even
harder...
Any idea why wine won't work with virtually no game at all???
thanks a lot

How about DiabloII (Lord of Destruction)?
I've heard of it running under Winex/Cedega (which is not Wine nor is it freeware) but not under wine or native...

Wine desktop emulation
...of the question, skip the blue part ;)
i usually like to play older games with wine, and many of them are restricted to a screen resolution of SVGA or XGA ect. This looks of course incredibly bad on a Full HD Widescreen.
Some of these games offer parameters or modes to play them in windowed mode (DiabloII, ...), some of them do only support the ALT+Return method (which doesn't seem to work in wine?), some of them do neither.
Fortunately I can start all games on an emulated Desktop with small size
Question: is it possible to start wine with a parameter or prefix that makes it switch to emulate...

Diablo 2 & Wine
I cant really seem to find a definite answer: there's a bunch of stuff written
on the subject, but nothing definite. "I've got it half way working" seems to be
all I can find.
So, has anyone gotten it working fully? I'd love to be able to run this without
having to install windows... that would be a pain having to reformat etc etc
etc...
thx

Diablo 2 issue with direct3d
I'm running wine 1.2.2 and used the blizzard installer while downloading everything off of their site for d2 - No expansion yet. I tried to run d2 to make sure its working up to this point before I continue to install lod. I get an error that goes like this:
Error 25: A critical error has occurred while initializing Direct3D.
I thought wine didn't support direct3D and that was why I was
