DiabloII
For those that have managed to get Diablo II to work. I have attempted get Diablo working, however have run into a DirectX not available error. How did others get this to work. I have a small how-to, but it doesn't help with this. Wine 0.0.20011004-1 -- Kevin C. Smith | Debian GNU/Linux smithkevinc@nettaxi.com |

TOO MANY ERRORS
Ok, I've tried wine with about 10 different aplications and it always returns SOME kind of error... and it closes... the only one I can run without ANY problem is DiabloII.... not even half life runs on wine... Using wineX didn't solve any problem.. in fact I think it it even harder... Any idea why wine won't work with virtually no game at all??? thanks a lot -- Alan Bort Linux Registered User 298277 -Country Manager- [http://counter.li.org] [ http://www....

Wine desktop emulation
...of the question, skip the blue part ;) i usually like to play older games with wine, and many of them are restricted to a screen resolution of SVGA or XGA ect. This looks of course incredibly bad on a Full HD Widescreen. Some of these games offer parameters or modes to play them in windowed mode (DiabloII, ...), some of them do only support the ALT+Return method (which doesn't seem to work in wine?), some of them do neither. Fortunately I can start all games on an emulated Desktop with small size Question: is it possible to start wine with a parameter or prefix that makes it switch to emulate...

Diablo 2 & Wine
I cant really seem to find a definite answer: there's a bunch of stuff written on the subject, but nothing definite. "I've got it half way working" seems to be all I can find. So, has anyone gotten it working fully? I'd love to be able to run this without having to install windows... that would be a pain having to reformat etc etc etc... thx

Diablo 2 issue with direct3d
I'm running wine 1.2.2 and used the blizzard installer while downloading everything off of their site for d2 - No expansion yet. I tried to run d2 to make sure its working up to this point before I continue to install lod. I get an error that goes like this: Error 25: A critical error has occurred while initializing Direct3D. I thought wine didn't support direct3D and that was why I was
