I enabled logging at level 3 on my new 4.3.11-ubuntu (sylvia) system to see why I was not opening a share properly from another system. Motherboard - Intel DG41TY Device: RealTek: 8111D Driver: RTL8169 Causes Kernel panic during install and boot. -- It seems that the newer the card that uses this driver, the worse the problems are. I am taking the unusual measure of posting before anyone responds to my post as something occurred to me and the results of testing it yields useful information relevant to my problem. It finally occurred to me that the behavior I am seeing with sylvia, specifically the fact that a file added via the share from the other system gets ownership of "nobody/nogroup", that perhaps 4.3.11
