Any problems with devjavu.com?
Hi all, apologies if this isn''t the right place to ask. merb.devjavu.com seems to be down for me everyday between 11:00am UTC and 5:00pm UTC. Anyone outside the US seeing this problem? Btw, merb is just... beautiful. Cheers, David

Trac not for general use?
Hi devs, I was trying to open a new ticket with a minor doc patch at the BackgroundDrb Trac (http://backgroundrb.devjavu.com/) and it seems like only admins have permission to do so. Is this intended? I read in the readme that patches should be mailed to this list, but I much prefer to use Trac since there''s already one set up. Any reason Trac is not open to registered Devjavu users? Spam perhaps? Cheers,...

Mongrel wiki?
Dear Mongrels, The same questions keep coming up over and over on the list, which is ok, but not really optimal. If we added a wiki to the Mongrel site to handle FAQs, what wiki should it be? Required features would be: * Spam protection * Doesn''t look shitty I would probably spring for Trac (and also migrate the bugtracker) if noone else has opinions, but I''m sure some of

[PATCH] x 2 - Fix for "null pointer exception" when ask_status is called before worker is run, and docfixes
Sorry for attaching patches in emails to the mailing list, but I''m still unable to login to Devjavu for Backgroundrb (I''m able to login just fine for Merb''s Devjavu and submitted a ticket successfully). Anyway, I encountered a bug when trying to #ask_status of a worker before it''s run (or rather, before its result_hash has been set to something). Not sure why it'...

Picolena, a ferret+rails documents search engine
Hi everybody! I am proud to present you a small project I have been working on for a while: Picolena, a documents search engine written in Rails. ( http://picolena.devjavu.com/ ). It obviously uses Ferret for indexing and searching, and adds some plain text extractors in order to index OOffice.org, pdf and MS Office documents (and some others as well). Everything is packed in a gem (gem install picolena), with a few rake tasks, a multi-threaded indexer, a language...

Status of Merb on JRuby
...'s probably a problem with the specs as opposed to builder itself. Haml fails a couple of specs, so I''ve disabled it, too, for now. I only use erb, so if anyone wants to help out, making one of the other engines work would be a great place to start :-) :dudley [0] http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/231 [1] http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/232 [2] http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/236 [3] http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/242 [4] http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/235 [5] http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-1106 [6] http://rubyforge.org/frs/download.php/20097/mongrel-1.0.1-jruby.gem

Non-Erubis Templates
Trunk Issue: Because of the use of ''autoload'', template handlers other than Erubis are not loaded automatically (Haml, XMLBuilder). Either this should be fixed, or the documentation should be updated to instruct people how to use non-Erb template engines. Apparently the solution is to do something like this in merb_init.rb: ::Merb::AbstractController.register_engine

Merb::RenderMixin#set_status refers to non-existent RESPONSE_CODES constant
#set_status http://merb.devjavu.com/browser/trunk/lib/merb/mixins/render.rb#L270 refers to a non-existent constant. I tried, while creating #359, to make things OK, but I failed. I started by using STATUS_CODES instead, then used #[] instead of calling a method named STATUS_CODES, then I found out that during the call to #i...

respond_to API
I''ll probably do my respond_to API rewrite, as discussed here: http://rubyforge.org/pipermail/merb-devel/2007-September/000275.html sometime this week, unless someone has come up with a better API. I''ll also work in http://merb.devjavu.com/ticket/227 at the same time. Any serious objections?

Subversion authentication?
Hello, I''ve been trying to get the latest copy of BackgrounDRB as per the documentation here http://backgroundrb.rubyforge.org/. However, whenever I try to access http://svn.devjavu.com/backgroundrb/tags/release-0.2.1 I keep an authentication prompt and if I leave it blank I am declined access. Is there somewhere else to get the code or am I doing something wrong? Thanks, -carl -- EPA Rating: 3000 Lines of Code / Gallon (of coffee)

Question about new results hash
Is it really a hash? As in, can I pass it into a method that a worker is calling so that, for example, a method in my ActiveRecord that''s actually doing the work? Really liking the new code. Hash.from_xml
Hi, I''ve started looking at ticket 90<http://merb.devjavu.com/projects/merb/ticket/90>and there are a couple of situations that the current implementation doesn''t cater for. 1. Tag Attributes are wiped out. - <tag1 attr1=''1''>Content</tag1> #=> { "tag1" => "Content" } - I thi...

Couple questions about backgroundrb
So, what''s the status of this project? I''m a little confused. The documentation at http://backgroundrb.rubyforge.org seems out of date. It refers to http://svn.devjavu.com/backgroundrb/tags/release-0.2.1, which doesn''t work. All I want is a way to easily set up tasks that should run periodically. Some stuff should run every 10 seconds, some stuff once a day, etc. The tasks will need to access Rails models and save data. There''s maybe 10 or s...

Is there a way to make backgroundrb 0.2.1 fail silently on win32?
...nvironment.rb, but it appears this idea was batted down by DHH: http://dev.rubyonrails.org/ticket/5468 Is there something I can do to monkey patch my svn:externals''d link to backgroundrb 0.2.1 to prevent it from loading itself if PLATFORM =~ /win32/i? I could unlink backgroundrb from the devjavu svn repository and do the patch myself on the code, but I''d prefer not to store backgroundrb in my own SVN repo. Any ideas?
