Desperate to upgrade from RedHat 9 to CentOS 4.4
I'm desperately trying to upgrade from RedHat 9 to CentOS 4.4, but the
one thing that's really causing me problems is migrating from Evolution
1.2.2 (bundled with RedHat 9) to 2.0.2 (bundled with CentOS 4.4.
When running Evolution 2.0.2 for the first time, with Evolution 1.2.2
folders and files in evolution folder in same partition, the automatic
migration process starts up and seems to

desperate!
Dear R community
I sent a message out a while ago asking for help with multiple
comparison tests for ANOVA's, but haven't had any response yet.
I'm sending a final desperate plea. If I can't get this done in R I'm
going to have to redo a whole lot of stuff in a commercial package,
which I'm REALLY not keen to do!
My problem is how to implement these tests in R. Below

Desperately trying to build a wine.conf
Hi there,
I am desperately trying to build a suitable wine.conf, but somehow I just
don't manage to. I have been reading through different wine documentation
and help pages.
I used winecheck to try to figure out what is wrong. However, winecheck
tells me constantly that I have to configure the paths of my drives in a
special way: /my/mount/point. I tried to apply that (of course not

Please help, I'm desperate
It doesn't matter what I try, what smb.conf I dream up or
what I put into the win 95 configs: I can't get roaming
profiles to work. I tried increasing the debug level but
all I got was over 500k of crap and as far as I can understand
it most things are for developers!
PLEASE HELP ME!
My setup:
- Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 (Potato/frozen)
- Samba 2.0.6-3 (running as daemon)

Desperate Help Required Getting SAMBA back on line
I am running SAMBA on Red Hat 7.0 and after a bad upgrade my SAMBA server is dead. I
ended up re-installing from the source and now my server is not accessible to our Win9x
clients. smbstatus show the server running but no one on the network can see the server.
I am still a bit of a newbie and I am having trouble troubleshooting this. I really am in
a jam and I need some help ASAP.

I am new to Asterisk and I am having a setup problem that I am trying to
resolved for the last couple days without any success. I am pretty much

help me to troubleshoot this? I can't hear any audio from Asterisk when
running Playback or VoiceMail tests.

Samba and NIS+ (lengthy desperate plea)
Hi everyone,
Let me briefly describe my setup. I work at a small university and we are
setting up 3 labs. 2 are filled with Ultra Sparc 5's, and the 3rd will be
filled with PCs running NT4 workstation. We have an Enterprise Server
3500 running NIS+ to authenticate the Unix labs (or rather we will, once
I get it working), and I'd like to set up Samba to authenticate the NT
labs using

Security help desperately needed
...te to some directories
The problems I'm seeing are inconsistent, making it difficult to know how to
find the source. Samba access is essential to me. I use a server-based
korganizer, and without samba it's inaccessible. Sometimes it is working,
sometimes it isn't. Last night, in desperation, I turned off selinux and the
firewall so that I could finish a job, intending to get it sorted this
morning. (There is a router firewall, so while security was diminished it
was not totally absent.) This morning my laptop cannot make any samba
connections at all.
In an attempt to find out w...

Please: Desperately Seeking Session expiration (DRbStore)
Hello,
this is killing me: i can''t find a way to let idle sessions expire after a
certain period of time. If they don''t expire, they will pile up until there''s no
more memory available.
Please, can anybody give me a hint?
Basically, all I need is a hash or list with all the sessions in DRbStore.
Greetings

Some other stuff they use is Java/Oracle.

SIP Multicast Support desperately needed :: Mission critical bug in Asterisk
Friends!
I have recently discovered that chan_sip, chan_sip2 and chan_sipx all
lack support of SIP multicast. This has a major impact on my network,
since I haven't got the bandwidth needed to call all of you and send you
this message. With that feature missing, I have to go back to old
Internet communication methods and use e-mail instead:
