[despammed] RE: multidimensional function fitting
...y code in C. If you expect the structure of the function to be simple, tell gam() so by specifying a small dimensional basis (via the k= argument in s()). This will probably ease the computational burden. HTH, Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: RenE J.V. [despammed] RE: multidimensional function fitting
You can use R objects, such as the return from gam, and the predict.gam function, from C. See the R extensions manual. Reid Huntsinger -----Original Message----- From: RenE J.V. Need config.h
I'm not trying to build Wine on my system, only to extract enough files so I can define my own version of an edit control -- the one built into Windows does too much in one area and not enough in another, and subclassing doesn't solve the problem. I've identified the file I need (\dlls\user32\edit.c) and can find the associated include files, however I can't find

[fdo] [ADMIN] Mail move, some weirdness
Hi all, Pascal Hakim and I have just moved our mail system to Postfix, from Exim 4. This was largely to ease our admin load, so we could help in despamming. We've already implemented support for XBL and SBL, as well as grey-listing. Unfortunately, there was a window of about 2 hours where mail was being accepted, but the LDAP recipient map was not active. As a result, some mail spooled in

oplock problem on NTUSER.DAT (fwd)
---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Tue, 29 Jul 2003 19:40:48 -0400 (EDT) From: Rashkae <rashkae@tigershaunt.com> To: Marco De Vitis <starless@despammed.com> Subject: Re: [Samba] oplock problem on NTUSER.DAT Hi Marco Try to veto oplocks for that file. In the global section of your smb.conf, add the following veto oplock files = /NTUSER.DAT/ Let us know if that changes the behaviour. This sounds like an interseting quirk in the W2K clients....

Dear All, As far I as I have understood reading both your past posting and the documentation, in order to have the command-line completion facility, I have to run R within emacs. However, as I try to start R within emacs as recommended: C-u M-x R emacs answers [no match] the same if I provide the whole path to the executable: C-u M-x /usr/bin/R [no match] sorry for such beginner

bri stuff and unknown signalling type
I've downloaded and compiled zaphfc and libpri. To do that i've downloaded bri-stuff and commented out the asterisk related stuff because i've installed it from a debian package. Does this means that i have to rebuild the whole asterisk thing to support zaphfc? thanks ciao

oplock problem on NTUSER.DAT
Hi, I'm on a network with a Samba 2.2.8a fileserver + PDC (Mandrake Linux 9.0) and various Win2000 Pro clients. Very often, when I log off from one client and log on a different one soon after, I get an error message telling me that the remote profile cannot be loaded, and the local one will be used, as if the profile was still locked by the previous session. One peculiar thing to notice is

Updating 2.2.8a to 3.0.0 (LDAP)
Hi, we have Samba 2.2.8a+LDAP 2.0.27 domain controllers running on our Debian servers and I'm preparing the update to Samba 3.0.0. Everything seems to work fine so far, except that I get some error messages that I don't understand. Could someone please explain them to me? Should I wait for the next Samba release before switching to 3.x? The error messages: When a user logs into the
