Installation woes for rattle (and other packages)
Yesterday I wanted to try rattle on Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty. I had (and still have) it running
(though it complains on startup a bit -- I'll look into that later) on a different bootup
on the same machine with 8.04 Hardy.
I got an error that libglade cannot be found, and various attempts to get glade support
failed. I removed and reinstalled R -- same problem.

Smallest install?
I have a 500Mb ATA Flash drive in my machine. If I deselect everything at
install time (CentOS 5.0 - just for testing) it still requires 524Mb. Is
there any way of doing an even smaller install?

samba fails to start.
After a hiccup or two with Samba not wanting to restart, I opted to
look for a pid/lock file and found none.
Tried to correct by restarting the server and had no success with
samba restarting.
There are no errors in smbd.log
I did apt-get upgrade. No help
I did apt-get remove samba, samba and swat went away.
I did note that the XXXX pid was not found during install when samba
was to be killed.

setting up bare minimal CentOS VM
Hi all,
I need to setup a real bare minimum CentOS Virtual Machine, but with
normal internet / network access. i.e. I need SSH, Mutt, Links, lynx,
ping, tracert, dig, iptables, etc.
Does anyone know where (if?) I can get a list of applications which
gets installed with CentOS 6 if every option is deselected in the
installer so that I can see what I can remove which isn't really
necessary

Deselect one of the array's matrix
Hello everyone and season's greetings.
I have an array that looks like that R<-c(1,2,3,4,5,6).
Is it possible to select all the elements but except one? For example to not select the third element and get back
(1,2,4,5,6)?
How can I do that?
I would like to thank you in advance for your help
Best Regards
Alex

Need help understanding Rails magic!
Hi,
I''ve just been pleasantly surprised, again, by how much Rails does for me, but I am *really* surprised. Surprised as in "how the heck did that happen?" I''d really like to understand this and would appreciate any help.
Big picture... the user is presented with a form that allows them to select one or more check boxes to record their allergies. The form uses the

Segfault when deselecting virtual folder 2.2.13+ HG TIP
Hello,
I'm seeing a segfault in the imap process with the current mercurial tip
(including changeset 17382 e99cd21e1f92) when selecting a particular
virtual mail folder (but no other virtual mailboxes) and then selecting
a different mail folder as in the IMAP transcript below. The same
segfaults are triggered with IMAP clients. The situation is worse with
the 2.2.13 which segfaults when

Mozilla ActiveX control
Hello,
I'm using wine/cvs and I'm trying to get IE6 installed (the windows tree
I got using method #2 doesn't work with the current wine/cvs)
I setup the config file so wine simulates an nt environment; then, after
deselecting VML the download completes;
However, wine then complains I do not have the Mozilla ActiveX control
installed (for mshtml.dll)
Can anyone tell me how to install Mozilla ActiveX control, in such a way
that wine can use it? I can't find much about this
Thanks for any help,
