rt_cache leak in 2.6.18
...'dst cache overflow' whenever a packet arrives.
The only solution at that point is to perform a reboot.
Flushing the routing tables by `echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/route/flush`
only clears the cached routes, however the value of ip_dst_cache does not
change.
According to
http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Fedora/2005-07/1175.html this is
a known bug that was fixed in 2.6.11, however, I'm running 2.6.18 (as
updated with `yum update`)
I downloaded the kernel sources, and indeed, the kernel source contains
the bug fix in the above article.
Therefore ... I'm at a loss as to...

Dell Perc 6 disk geometry problem with RAID5 (both 6.3 final and 7.0 RC1)
Hi,
We bought a new Dell PowerEdge 2950III with Perc 6/i and have the disk
geometry problem using 6.3 final or 7.0 RC1. Seems that we are not alone at
least one guy has similar problem reported earlier:
http://unix.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/FreeBSD/questions/2008-01/msg00506.html
I was reading the mailing list and found that some of the people are happily
using this hardware with the latest FreeBSD:

I just wonder what the status of mfi dri...

NUL characters in POP3 conversation cause Outlook to hang
...aracter in a message being sent through POP3. I see that dovecot's
imap implementation converts 0x00 to 0x80, but this conversion is not
done for POP3. Would it be possible to add an option to do this mapping
for POP3 as well?

Rescan for new geometry without reboot?
...ID 1+0 channels, some are in new channels.
Controllers and disks support live installation.
I'd like to avoid a reboot just to let the system find that the disks
are larger.
All I can find so far suggests that its possible to rescan the disks,
and even find the new geometry (e.g.
http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Kernel/2004-12/1555.html) but
nobody knows how to actually convince the system to let me use the
extra space without a reboot.
Does anyone know of a way to achieve this?
Thanks,

Here's the version I'm testing on :

flavien at localhost's password:
pid:11565 ...sleeping...

Automating Windows Update
Hi guys I was just wondering if there's already a way to automate the process of updating Windows to be specific XP. My idea is to mimic how a Windows server domain controller can rollout critical update on the entire domain. Can Samba do this? Thanks for any info

This does depend on the fec module.

So is there a reason the netgraph fec module isn't built by default?

3. I went to the win2k-dc and created a machine-account manually according to the instructions on this page: http://unix.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/SunManagers/2003-06/0512.html
3. Run: smbpasswd -j your-win2k-domain -r your-domain-controller's-netbios-name -U an-administration-account
In my case this command returned a message saying "failed to join domain", but this step proved to be important later on....

RELENG_7_1: bce driver change generating too much interrupts ?
Since last upgrade, I see much more CPU time "eated" by interrupts (at

How to tunnel Samba via ssh from Windows XP without having to disable local NetBIOS
