moving from Xen to KVM
Hello All,
I have been building a new server to deploy using Xen. However, seeing
that Redhat is moving towards KVM, it would seem beneficial to deply
this server using KVM as well. This is a Centos 5.4 x86_64 fresh
install.
So here is the scoop:
* running the xen kernel with 2 vms works great. I have 2 vms- a
cobbler host and an ldap host.
* running with non-xen kernel, I

Remember to restart your webserver.
The following is my hook for Certbot in Apache.
==========================
#!/bin/sh
service postfix restart
service dovecot restart
service apache2 restart

Forum
Hi CentOS lovers,
i have already sent this email to [www-devel] but still no answer. What i
propose to the comunnity is the creation of a full featured forum. Mailing
lists are fine, but one losses a lot of information, how-to's, advices,
and so on.
I currently am a network administrator / programmer /web programmer in
europe and i point the lack of centralized site with information as

To deploy or not to deploy on App Engine
I am nearing the end on a project i have been working on and am trying
to figure out where to host it. I am very tempted to host it on
google''s app engine. you get a ton of space, band width, and processor
all for free!
I was hoping to get some advice as to what people think about deplying
on the app engine.
Would it better to wait until ruby is supported? Are there perfomrance
issues with using JRuby? What would happen if ruby were supported in
the future, would transfering be a pain?

Production problem for mongrel
Hi,
I am working on deplying my Rail app to QA and then move to production.
Since on our QA servers, there is no internet access and also for production
servers, internet access is strictly prohibited.
As a result, there is no way to install mongrel by use "gem install mongrel"
command.
The first option I tried is t...

You can add a hook (script) to /etc/letsencrypt/renewal-hooks/deply/
which restarts the services you need.
In my case, I have
/usr/sbin/apache2ctl graceful
/usr/sbin/dovecot reload
/usr/sbin/postfix reload

community but obviously we MUST have moderators. The mantainers are my
suggestion.
and we must create the topics of the forum.
i will browse some forums this afternoon and then post a basic structure
of the topics.
if anyone has some ideas of topics needed just reply.

Sendmail and headers
Hi all,
Hope someone out there has experience with this.
I can send, receive, and smtp my mail with my centos server fine and dandy.
All the virtual domains headers for from and reply to and such are good.
However, there is one field that I cannot change.
(centos 5.2, dns, sendmail, virtualhosts all on same server)
The ip and hostname of the server is coming up when the ehlo is called from

Trouble is when i come to deploy the app on my webhost I ran into

Rails 2.3 app.
I did, "sudo rake gem unpack prawn" to freeze it in.
I put the app on my webhost but it won''t start, some error saying it
can''t find prawn.
Any ideas? (summary: works

404 Error in any controller/action on Media Temple
Hi everybody.
I''m a newbie on RoR. I have some experiencie developing in PHP or Java,
but I''m just starting with RoR.
A few days ago I signed up to the (gs) Grid Service on Media Temple.
This is my very first experience deplying RoR on a production
enviroment. Until now I just used the WebRick server on developement.
Well, the problem I''m having is that after installing the ruby_gems,
rails, mysql and the mongrel gems as indicated on the knowledge base of

[PATCH server] Cloud UI V1 (readonly).
...ce api. There
are a few readonly AR calls that in near future could easily be moved to
service layer to be even simpler calls. They are kept separate from admin
things so they can be as simple as possible as well a making it conceivable
that one could deploy the cloud part of the app without also deplying admin
(perhaps one wants to deply that elsewhere). For now this would have to be
done manually, but perhaps in future we can setup the service layer/ar classes
to be a separate rpm that two different wuis (admin/cloud) could call into,
enhancing modularity.
