Lattice: Plotting two densities on the same plot(s)?
...I get two distinct (one-bump) density lines. When I try to do it
using lattice, I get two two-humped lines. (In other words, I think the
smoothing function is taking the next set of data points and smoothing them
in the same function as the prior set.)

Hot Topic: Icecast in Macromedia Flash
Hi everybody,
I am trying to build an mp3 player in Macromedia Flash that would work with
Icecast. Using Flash as a mp3 player instead of Winamp, XMMS,. could
democratize Icecast because Flash is cross-platform/cross-browser, it is
installed on almost every computer connected to the internet and it will be
embedded into a webpage.
I successfully imported an Icecast live stream into Flash with this simple
ActionScript code:

creating a new variable.
hello, all.
in my previous research, i have always used existing data. i am trying something new as an exploratory exercise and have never create my own variable form scratch.
essentially, i am creating a variable for party affiliation.
here is an example.
var =party.
levels= democrat, republican, other.
respondents will indicate which category they fall under.
for the sake of ease, i will use small data as an example.
i was thinking the levels would need to be created first-
dem <- c(1,1,1,1,0,0,0,0)
rep <- c(1,1,1,0,0,0,0,0)
other <- c(1,0,0,0,0,0,0,0)
then, i...

Chinese Diplomat Step out to Expose Communist Regime at Sydney 6.4 Rally

June 4, 2005 marks the 16th anniversary of Tiananmen Student Massacre. Australian Democrats,
Greens representatives and human rights groups spoke at the Rally that intends to remember
the pro-democracy students killed on Tiananmen Square and 80 million people killed by the
Chinese Communist Party (CCP) since it came to power, and also to celebrate an anticipation of
collapse of CCP--...

Fedora change that will probably affect RHEL
...g Fedora users 37% use KDE and 42% Gnome".
Or (after the remark I was responding to)
"83% of CentOS machines are in datacenters, and 7% are home-servers".
(Or "x% of Fedora users have turned SELinux to permissive".)
I'm not saying that Fedora or CentOS should work on democratic principles.
I welcome Johnny Hughes unambiguous statement that CentOS follows RHEL.
This saves a lot of time arguing about things that cannot be changed.
But I hold the (old-fashioned?) view that before expressing an opinion
one should get the facts.

Xapian on Android?
...ers. (www.widernet.org) For our big library (12GB and 45 million documents) we use Lucene and SOLR.
Now we're developing smaller libraries that will fit on smartphones, tablets, and laptops. For example, our 16GB Ebola Pocket Library that is in the hands of hundreds of health workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
We seek an Android search interface that would interact with an index of ~128GB of resources.
We can create the index on more powerful machines with any OS in our development lab, but need to provide the end users with tools to search that index on their devices.
Thanks...

...Yes, but... attacks on the friggin' IoT could result in lots of blood.
Or, less so, what do you mean all the rail lines have been knocked out

the country? Or power?

In at least one of the several, it was a phishing attack. In another case,
someone responded slowly to a query... and had a typo saying the *reverse*
of what they meant to say.
