Samba 3.0alpha23 problems
Ok guys I am having some issues with Samba via ADS. I went to browse a share I setup on my Linux box and it prompted me for a username and password. This did not work but I found this in the log.winbind [2003/05/13 16:15:56, 1] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:rescan_trusted_domains(168) scanning trusted domain list [2003/05/13 16:15:56, 1] libsmb/clikrb5.c:krb5_mk_req2(267) krb5_cc_get_principal

Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage.

Add item to scale?
Hi, many thanks for all suggestions as to shading of areas. Now to another small detail: how do I add items to the x-axis? Given a plot of "dnorm", I'd like to add some text to the x-axis, preferably with a corresponding tick mark. Imagine the typical \lambda demarcating a tail area. So far, I've only been able to add text in the plot region, not in the one of the axes. Suggestions? In the beginning-The first question.
List, Im a Cisco certified Network guy with little telecom experience (BRI/PRI at the time) so please forgive my terminology. I am showing interest after the Network World SHSU October 4 article. We have 3 offices (Hub-Spoke T1 Frame relay to the remote offices(Data & voice on separate T)). Each office currently does their own thing for telecom. Our Main(HUB) office currently has 14 channels

X100P Burnouts
Thought I would post this experience to the list so it's archived for posterity... My company is deploying Asterisk-based PBX's to all of our branch offices. Each office has 2 analog Voice lines and a fax line. We didn't want to go to the expense of using TDM400's in the servers (which run asterisk and Hylafax) so we opted for 2 X100P cards in each box. So far they have

Histogram not plotting correct breaks
Hi, I'm using the hist function to plot the frequency of 21 variables, but it keeps starting the x-axis from 0 and adding variables 1 and 2 together (all other vairables have the correct frequencies). I suspect it adds 1 and 2 together so that 0 can fit in with demarcations at intervals of 5. Using "xlim=c(1,21)" to specify that i don't want to include 0 and using the

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
I came into this with my eyes wide open. I have read ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING there is to be found on the net about avoiding echo problems BEFORE I even attempted to create a production system. Since lots of people are apparently using this in production environments now I just assumed that echo IS avoidable. As others have recommended, I created a test system with the proposed production

Program logic behind Ruby On Rails
Hi, I''m a newbie in both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I finished the Ruby on Rail Tutorial on Todo list and it was great. But, now I''m trying to understand the logic behind it, that is something that is not obvious on how each one of them ties together. Is there a flowchart that shows how the inner working of Ruby on Rails? In another words, let''s suppose we consider the

Documenting else's greed
I was initially pretty shocked by the result in this question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/57527434/when-do-i-need-parentheses-around-an-if-statement-to-control-the-sequence-of-a-f Briefly, the following returns 0, not 3 as might be expected: if (TRUE) { 0 } else { 2 } + 3 At first I thought it the question was simply one of syntax precedence, but I believe the result is too

Heatmap: draw horizontal line
Hi, I wanted to draw a heatmap with some horizontal lines. For example: #------ code ------ mat <- matrix(-1:1,7,9) heatmap.2(mat,Rowv=NA,trace = 'none',key=F) #----end code ----- In this heatmap, I want to subgroup the rows. For instance, I would like to group rows 5,6 & 7 together, and would draw a black line between rows 4 & 5 to demarcate the group. Similarly, I want to

Shielding of T1/E1 cables WAS RE: Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: what cable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
My telco used cat5 as well for the demarc to CPE. It's also with noting that many channel banks, such as my Atlas, and zapata.conf itself also have parameters to allow you to tune the gains to compensate for cable signal loss. I've never had to touch them, and my CPE is about 300 feet from the PRI demarc (with an ordinary Cat5 cable connecting them)

what is the effect of high LBO settings?
I'm working on an Asterisk system with all of it's PRI ports configured with the LBO setting at 5, like this: span=3,0,5,esf,b8zs As of yet, I am unwilling to change the LBO to 0 to where it probably should be because the system is working and I'm not sure exactly what the LBO does. I'm aware some changes were made to deal with low audio levels. Does anybody know what audio

Winbind + ADS small issues
Ok guys after reading a ton of documentation etc I have finally got my Linux machine to work in a ADS enviroment. I can actually go on a windows machine type in \\linuxboxname and access shares on my Linux box. First of all I joined the ADS correctly. wbinfo -u and -g show proper values and everything works except my Linux computer does not show up in Network Neighborhood on windows machines.

Noise on FXS ports (Sangoma)
Hi: I have a Sangoma A200 card installed in a server with two FXO modules and one FXS module. Analog sets connected to the FXS module have a "squeaky static" -- it's like static mixed with the sound of someone vigorously cleaning a window a few doors down. In other words, it's not a classic static noise, but it is noise, and it's distracting. Remote callers can hear this

Documenting else's greed
Indeed, an example in the documentation about this feature would be helpful, may be the one Hugh used. If an explanation is deemed appropriate, I would suggest including something along the lines of the following (after the second paragraph of the Details section for if/while/etc.). =============== In these constructs the opening braces, if any, are part of the expression to be evaluated, not

Adding mean values to boxplots
Hello there, I was wondering if anyone might be able to help me as I'm pretty new to R. I'm trying to create a boxplot from a data table returned from an sproc. I have the following code, which generates the plot as I'd like it: library("RODBC"); conn <- odbcConnect("datawarehouse"); # connect to datawarehouse results <- sqlQuery(conn, "call

Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the
