Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage. dmesg now sa...

Add item to scale?
Hi, many thanks for all suggestions as to shading of areas. Now to another small detail: how do I add items to the x-axis? Given a plot of "dnorm", I'd like to add some text to the x-axis, preferably with a corresponding tick mark. Imagine the typical \lambda demarcating a tail area. So far, I've only been able to add text in the plot region, not in the one of the axes. Suggestions? In the beginning-The first question.
...erest after the Network World SHSU October 4 article. We have 3 offices (Hub-Spoke T1 Frame relay to the remote offices(Data & voice on separate T)). Each office currently does their own thing for telecom. Our Main(HUB) office currently has 14 channels of T1 into an ADIT 600 punched down to the DEMARC. Our Panasonic (72 port) VB-43050 DBS picks up from the DEMARC and spits out 4 lines for our VM server. My goal is described below, the question is how to make Asterisk do it. Consolidate telecom services of the other two offices into our HUB office. Try (Hard) to keep some of the current phones (...

X100P Burnouts
...e and even connecting up a phone line simulator and moving the card to another server. The card never works again. This went on for three days. Burned out an X100p every night. I called the telco (Verizon) and they sent out a couple of guys to run tests on the line, but found nothing. Their Demarc is properly grounded and has surge suppression modules attached, the cable that runs from their demarc to our punch-down block is in grounded metal conduit and does not run near any power source. The cable that runs from the punch-down block to the wall jack also does not run anywhere near an...

Histogram not plotting correct breaks
Hi, I'm using the hist function to plot the frequency of 21 variables, but it keeps starting the x-axis from 0 and adding variables 1 and 2 together (all other vairables have the correct frequencies). I suspect it adds 1 and 2 together so that 0 can fit in with demarcations at intervals of 5. Using "xlim=c(1,21)" to specify that i don't want to include 0 and using the "breaks" command to specify 21 breaks doesn't help. Any advice? Thank you!! -- View this message in context: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/Histogram-not-plotting-correc...

Will Echo problems EVER be solved, I'm scared
...ng. Still the same general echo problem The things I have tried include in no particular order and not limited to are: *Buy latest TDM400P with latest FXO module *Ensure copper connection to analog telco lines and telco are not causing problems including running a separate shielded line to the demarc AND having the telco guy come out and test the levels, impedance etc. *Adjust RX/TX levels as per Asterisk Wiki using the quick Ztmonitor method and by using the detailed Ztmonitor method via a Telco 102milliwatt test phone #. The end result was RX=8.0, TX=-1.0. Since I still have echo problems I...

Program logic behind Ruby On Rails
Hi, I''m a newbie in both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I finished the Ruby on Rail Tutorial on Todo list and it was great. But, now I''m trying to understand the logic behind it, that is something that is not obvious on how each one of them ties together. Is there a flowchart that shows how the inner working of Ruby on Rails? In another words, let''s suppose we consider the

...as might be expected: if (TRUE) { 0 } else { 2 } + 3 At first I thought it the question was simply one of syntax precedence, but I believe the result is too surprising to not warrant note in the documentation of Control. Perhaps in the paragraph starting 'Note that it is a common mistake to forget to put braces...' it should end with. Heatmap: draw horizontal line
.... For example: #------ code ------ mat <- matrix(-1:1,7,9) heatmap.2(mat,Rowv=NA,trace = 'none',key=F) #----end code ----- In this heatmap, I want to subgroup the rows. For instance, I would like to group rows 5,6 & 7 together, and would draw a black line between rows 4 & 5 to demarcate the group. Similarly, I want to group rows 3 & 4 in one group, and would like to put a black line between rows 2 & 3. I guess I'm looking for the 'hline' parameter or something, but couldn't find it in the documentation. Any help would be appreciated! [[alter...

Shielding of T1/E1 cables WAS RE: Pinouts for T1/E1 crossover cable WAS "RE: what cable to connect a legacy PBX to a TE410P ?"
My telco used cat5 as well for the demarc to CPE. It's also with noting that many channel banks, such as my Atlas, and zapata.conf itself also have parameters to allow you to tune the gains to compensate for cable signal loss. I've never had to touch them, and my CPE is about 300 feet from the PRI demarc (with an ordinary Cat5 cabl...

what is the effect of high LBO settings?
I'm working on an Asterisk system with all of it's PRI ports configured with the LBO setting at 5, like this: span=3,0,5,esf,b8zs As of yet, I am unwilling to change the LBO to 0 to where it probably should be because the system is working and I'm not sure exactly what the LBO does. I'm aware some changes were made to deal with low audio levels. Does anybody know what audio

Noise on FXS ports (Sangoma)
...tatic mixed with the sound of someone vigorously cleaning a window a few doors down. In other words, it's not a classic static noise, but it is noise, and it's distracting. Remote callers can hear this noise. I have, by turns: - Tested the line with the same analog sets plugged in at the demarcation point. No noise. (None of the SIP devices in this configuration have this noise for outgoing calls, so I'm sure it's got something to do with the FXS module). - Plugged the known good analog sets straight into the server - Moved the FXS module off the REMORA daughtercard to the main...

The only way I've managed to add values previously is by specifying their exact value and location on the plot e.g. text(1.4,2.139,format("Mean (2.14)",digits=2), cex=1); I need these values to be dynamic in the sense tha...

Adit Asterisk Cabling Connundrum.
I am hoping to replace my Nortel 8x24 switch with Asterisk. Right now my cabling comes from my outside phone box into my office and into a punchdown block and leaves the punchdown block as an amphenol connector which currently plugs into the Nortel swicth. A second amphenol connector them plugs into the switch and extends to another punchdown block that I believe carries the lines throughout the
