Any ideas? Has this been seen. I can reproduce it every time. When I
get a chance I will test the build on my Ultra 10.

Control-c not work under openssh?
...o pass the env list in place of the NULL when using
login but lost it during a disk cleanup :-( . BTW login ignores any env
passed by calling it with an execle.

[PATCH] Added features for AIX authentication
...CRT v3.1. They don't
attempt
to extend the SSH protocols -- they work within established sessions.
(See attached file: aix_changes.patch)

SIGHUP/av[0] restart failure (AIX)
...(e.g. kill -9) means it gets
automatically restarted by SRC. You kick it off on startup in
/etc/rc.tcpip in the same way as inetd, etc...
Hope this is useful!

AIX openssh use of SRC control
I'm new to using openSSH on AIX and want to know how others
are launching and maintaing sshd. I see where sshd has a -i option
for use with inetd, but I am thinking about adding the AIX SRC APIs
so that I can use the commands:
lssrc, startsrc and stopsrc to maintain the daemon.

You can then add this to /etc/rc.tcpip to initiate it on each boot:
start /usr/sbin/sshd "$src_running"

running sshd under AIX 4.3.3 ?
Hi,
If anyone has managed to get sshd to run as a subsystem in the System
Resource Controller under AIX 4.3.3 (a la mkssys), then please let me know
how you did it...
I can mkssys and startsrc it, but it dies immediately, leaving a child sshd
running with another PID than startsrc reported, and lssrc reports sshd
inoperative.
Is sshd a process that should stay in foreground, not forking? Or does

Scads of defunct processes ins AIX 4.3.3
I hope someone can help. I've installed 2.9p2 on a number of AIX boxes and
it works great.
The problem is that a HUGE >700 number of defunct processes get generated
by sshd. Did I do
something wrong ? Any suggestions ?
Please email chuck at fiu.edu as I don't subscribe to the list.
TIA,
Chuck

socks proxy support
is openssh going to ever contain socks4/5 proxy support
(http://www.socks.nec.com/) the same way ssh (nonfree version) does?
Without this support, openssh is completely unusable behind a firewall.

AIX SSH 2.x ssh and /etc/ftpusers rcp rlogin WRONG !
IF ssh is a replacement for rlogin, rsh etc I can accept it respecting
rlogin=false as rlogin does and rsh does not, however scp is a replacement
for rcp, and rcp does NOT use rlogin attribute, so the implementation is
NOT standard as scp fails if rlogin=false, but rcp succeeds, as documented.
thanks

Test snapshot
I have just tarred up a snapshot and uploaded it to:
http://www.mindrot.org/misc/openssh/openssh-SNAP-20000823.tar.gz
The snapshot incorporates the last month's fixes and enhancements from
the openssh-unix-dev mailing list and from the OpenBSD developers.
In particular:
- ssh-agent and ssh-add now handle DSA keys. NB. this does not interop
with ssh.com's ssh-agent. (Markus Friedl)
