Problmes joining Samba server to Active Directory

configured /etc/krb5.conf like this:

Joining Samba 3.0 to a "pure" Active Directory
...ry. This AD does NOT support Windows NT 4.0 Domains.
In a previous mail, I've been asked if I already have Kerberos setup and
tested. I don't. How do I test if Kerberos is working correctly for me?
If everything is working fine, I'd like the Samba server to join the AD
"europe.delphiauto.net". For this, I should type "net ads join". How
do I specify, which AD is to be joined?
And if this is also working, I'd like to be able to login to the Samba
server with a username/password which is ONLY in the AD. Do I need any
special privileges in the AD for the server?...

Active Directory - Which Samba version is needed?
Hi!
I'd like to setup a Samba server which should do user authentication
against an Active Directory. Our AD admins told me, that we do not have
Window NT 4.0 Domains available.
What I'm trying to accomplish, is that the users can login with the same
username/password they use with the AD. Also, if the password is
changed in the AD, this change should be reflected on the Samba server.

"Called name not present" - Howto solve?
Hello!
I've got a problem connecting my Linux Mandrake 8.0 box running
samba-2.2.0-5mdk to a Windows server.
I've been given the IP-Adress, Sharename and username:
IP\Share: \\164.56.65.199\transfer
Username: John Doe
(Note: It's not really "John Doe", but another name, but also with a
blank.)
There's no password.

How to join a linux machine to a "pure" Active Directory Domain using Samba 3.0alpha21?

Is "net ads join" the only thing I've got to do?
Where do I set which AD is to be joined? Does Samba use the
"workgroup" parameter from smb.conf? Do I have to pay any attention on
how I enter the AD name there, or would "europe.delphiauto.net" do?
Do I need some sort of adminstrative rights in the AD to be able to
join?
Which security mode would I need to use? domain?
Besides Samba, which other software/servers do I need on my server?
Kerberos? I suppose I need to configure it somehow - how? What do I
have to pay attent...

Okay, doesn't work. The DNS name of the other computer is:
[root@fp-2252 /etc]# host 164.56.65.199
199.65.56.164.in-addr.arpa. domain name pointer dwh_coe_454.delphiauto.com.
dwh_coe_454 also seems to be the netbios name of the computer:
[root@fp-2252 /etc]# nmblookup dwh_coe_454
querying dwh_coe_454 on 206.122.137.255
164.56.65.199 dwh_coe_454<00>
Doing a "node status" on the IP returns:

...That probably explains the lag in mapping Samba shares on client Windows
machines at every login. How can I accelerate that? Fine-tuning on Samba?
