maximum number of characters in APPEND
There is a maximum of 255 characters of parameters you can pass to the
kernel.
At least that's what I recall, but I may be wrong.

Subject: [syslinux] maximum number of characters in APPEND
Hi,
I wonder whether there is a maximum number of characters you can use for
the APPEND label.
I am using the following options:

a few sys/isolinux questions
Hi all,
I am using sys/isolinux for a mini-distro I am developing (movix.sf.net)
and I have a few questions based on the feedback I got from users.
As it is well known, there are some BIOS on which isolinux does not
work, so I had to create a boot floppy image for those unfortunate users
that have that kind of BIOS.
The floppy boots, looks for the CD and, if succesful, mounts the CD

displaying images
Hi,
I am using syslinux to produce autoplaying avi CDs (i.e. the CD contains
an avi file
and a minimum linux system plus the mplayer so that mplayer plays
automatically the
movie after the boot using the framebuffer device) to avoid things like
bringing avis
at friend's homes just to find out that they have only M$WinXX and the
M$ MediaPlayer
won't play my avi.

com32
Hi,
I am trying to understand how to use the COM32 mechanism in syslinux
2.00pre8.
It seems very interesting even though the comboot.doc docs are very
difficult to
read for me.
Here is my problem: I gave a look to the hello.c example in the sample
dir and
I could not find anywhere what to do with the hello.c32 file produced
through the
Makefile.
I tried putting it in a 2.00pre8 syslinux boot

SysLinux path problem?
Hi,
I'm happily using syslinux to boot from a FlashCard connected to my PC
through an IDE interface but I could not find any way to put vmlinuz in
a location different from the card root or it won't be found at the
boot :-(
Is there any known limitation for syslinux to the 'kernel' field?
With both isolinux and pxelinux I never met such strange behaviour.
BTW, did anyone
