Virtual NICs (aliases like eth0:1) won't come up after reboot

and now I'm back where I started.
How can I figure out what is wrong? I might add that I am not afraid of
using a console (actually prefer it on linux servers) but I am new to
CentOS so I tried to do everything by using the GUI - which in this case
keeps failing...

Clarification about virsh migration options
...cremental hints that it
would save incremental changes without actually transferring the storage
between hosts. But how is that possible if the storage was not shared in
the first place?
Lots of questions but I hope someone who has done this before can answer
some of these things.

is udev necessary?
Hi all
I recently setup a CentOS 5.2 server, running XEN (using HyperVM), and
then moved the hard drive from my test box to my Intel server.The
problem I now have, is that it doesn't bootup properly. Shortly after
I see the udev service started, the machine reboots. This keeps on
going the whole time.
I have managed to kill udev on start-up (with CTRL + C), and then it boots up.
So, do I

SVN missing libexpat.so.0 while it is present
...so fails...
I tried rebooting the server, running 'yum update' a couple of times and
right now I'm out of ideas....
I am running CentOS 5.2 - 32-bit in a virtual machine (don't think the
latter matters but right now I don't know where to look for the cause).
