Problem with HTTP traffic (very slow)
...s and still no luck so I can only assume something is broken with http traffic on this machine. The only difference between these two machines is one is an nfs server and the other an nfs client to that machine. Has anyone experienced this before / got any pointers on where I should look, which deity I should pray to etc. Cheers, -- Mark Sergeant <msergeant@snsonline.net> SNSOnline Technical Services

winbind with ports 445/139 blocked
...hings, winbind requires port 445 or 139 to be open to the remote domain controllers, which it is not. Apparently these ports are not required for the MS Windows clients to authenticate to the remote domain, as they work fine. Getting the ports opened would either take an act of God, or some other deity. So I was hoping that there was a way to make winbind use other services like windows does (rpc/ldap/whatever). Thoughts?

@params["aKey"] and multiple aKeys in request
Hi, I''ve actually run into an interesting problem and no idea how to fix it. In request parameters i have multiple "url" keys like this: url=www.abc.com&url=cnn.com&url=.... But @params[:url] has only the latest value for "url" key instead of having values kept in array. So what''s next? Is there way out of this issue? Thanks, G?bor PS.: I use rails

puppetd.pid and SMF woes
So when puppetd crashes/whatever, and a pid file is left behind, SMF in Solaris will try restarting puppet, but fail. And then it sits there restarting it forever. I''m not sure if I can adjust the flap detection in SMF.. it isn''t disabling the service for "restarting too quickly" because it takes so long to start. Probably because I''m NFS-mounting ruby. The

Multiple zones and aliases (newbe)
Hi all, I''m totally new to Shorewall and have only read through a limited amount of documentation. I have an idea for a new configuration of our server firewall and would like to know a general yes or no (give or take a few tips) on the concept. I will then go and read up in more detail when I come to implementing it. I always think that it''s best to get a general idea from

Best Practices question regarding views & controllers
Hi List! I''m reading the Agile book, as many online articles as I can, but there''s still some things that are just too hard to answer for yourself. In building my application, I often find myself putting code into my views of which I am not quite certain it belongs there. Where do you usually draw the line? Is it okay to, say, loop through an array of hashes that represents

Question about noreplicate flag
...ry or anything) and the logs went silent (mail_debug was off again, but it should not matter) concerning that account. Note that I can still see the "Error: sync: Unknown user in remote" for other non-overlapping accounts (so it proves that your suggestion did it and not some random/$DEITY intervention :) So I guess for now the solution is to create "fake" accounts so that in the end both servers have exactly the same accounts. However it would still be nice if this was somehow corrected so as to work as advertised :) Thanks a million! Bernardo.

...all produce. It's a good thing. That said, and just like Terry, I have also searched many times for these variables, and part of me thinks that it a crime that the material is spread over (at least) three different manuals but _c'est la vie_. Until we get a dedicated volunteer editor, or, deity forbid we decide to spend some (collective) money on professional documentation.
