Wine is not doing a clean --purge
Hi guys. Just figured it again. (running 1.3.10) Wine is leaving all its entires in ~/.local/share/applications when doing an apt-get remove --purge. That's giving me dead bodies in the main menu. Would be nice to get that fixed. The desktop corpses I might accept. ;) Cheers

Samba and LDAP install on FreeBSD
Here is my problem. I installed the OpenLdap 2.4.10 server and SASL client. I then went to install the Samba 3.0.30 Port and it tells me that it needs to install OpenLDAP client 2.3.42, but the 2.4.10 is in the same place and I need to deinstall it. I deinstall 2.4.10 and samba will install, but now openldap will not run because it has missing files. I went to reinstall the 2.4.10 SASL client, but it tells me that the openldap 2.3.42 needs to be removed. If I go to remove the 2.3.42 openldap client, it tells me that samba 3.0.30 relies...

[LLVMdev] proposed patch to default to isl-only polly
...isl code generation is not yet default is because we do > not yet support openmp code generation support for it. Would you be OK > with installing Polly without OpenMP generation support? Tobias, The idea is to have some control on whether Polly is built with cloog outside of crudely deinstalling the cloog headers and libraries each time Polly is built. If you don't want to default to ISL-only yet, this change would still be useful even if the default is switched to... option(POLLY_USE_CLOOG "Build Polly with Cloog support" ON) since users could still pass cmake... -DPO...

RE: Samba 'make install' chokes on textproc/expat2 & now openldap
...e into a network with 2k/XP/2K3, it will greatly >improve compatibility. OK. I tried to install samba 3.0.7,1. Got the same error: =================================================================== textproc/expat2 is already installed - perhaps an older version? If so, you may wish to `make deinstall' and install this port again by `make reinstall' to upgrade it properly. If you really wish to overwrite the old port of textproc/expat2 without deleting it first, set the variable "FORCE_PKG_REGISTER" in your environment or the "make install" command line. ============...

VGA Passthru - FLR?
Hi, everyone. I''m Guilherme Suzuki (brazillian, by the way) and really interested in xen-vga-passthru. Lately, I bought a brand new Saphire HD 7950 (OC Boost) because I saw in a wiki somewhere that users have been able to passthru these VGA devices to domU (win7, win-xp and so on). But, after I installed it, I executed *lspci -vv* to check if FLR in DevCap was present (which

Now they are missing. I deinstalled 3.0.23c and switched back to 3.0.23b. Everything is then back to normal. What's wrong with the .23c version? Adam

FreeBSD 6.1 OpenSSH broken
...g list but I send it here bcoz this mail is further to the mail I sent a couple of weeks ago about weird DH problems with FreeBSD OpenSSH. It turned out that reinstalling OpenSSL solved the issue. For those of you working on FreeBSD this is the solution. # cd /usr/ports/security/openssl #make deinstall #make reinstall I will make available a cleaner fix if I get around to it. I have been seeing several instances of Apache SSL not working, OpenSSH not working sometimes and various other problems with FreeBSD users. Root cause is a broken OpenSSL library. Please refer to my thread titled &...

Sure, I can see a need for this. The only reason I asked is if you want to do this for package management reasons or if there is a problem with the cloog parts of polly. In any case, I am happy to add this patch, but if you use it...

After Windows login black screen with mouse cursor
...he following issue: They were started as usual and the users do their login. But after this a black screen appears where only the mouse cursor is shown. It lasts 10 to 15min until the normal desktop appears. First I suspected two new installed Windows updates (KB3006137 and KB3021917) but after deinstallation nothing changed. I use roaming profiles via gpo and folder redirection for AppData, Desktop, Documents and Favorites. One more note: One client had this two days ago with 4.1.16. There is a failure on each client: Event ID 5719, NETLOGON, This computer was not able to set up a secure ses...

Wine Setup
Still have these questions: CWp3 winedbg symlink is broken. How to fix? I am hearing that in order to deinstall a Windows program, you must compile a certain proggie from the sources. It doesn't seem to come with CWWine. Best avenue? I chose Desktop mode, as I need two apps running simultaneously. Freedom, which is my privacy app and netscape-mail must run together, as mail is fetched through Freedo...
