Authentication fails - 3.0.26a-0.9-1787-SUSE-SLES9
...ce but can
get to another share that is on the same system. If I setup a share
definition in smb.conf for myself as a home share it fails with the same
error. All of our other Samba servers are working correctly. When a
connection is attempted they get the following:
'/data2/home/OREILLY2/bdehn' does not exist or permission denied when
connecting to [bdehn] Error was Permission denied.
I turned up the log level (5) and see that winbind show's me
authenticating correctly but still the Permission denied message. If I
stop and restart windbind I see the following in log.winbind:...

Need help with "username map"
We have setup a Samba member server using Winbind (3.0.14a and NT4). I am
trying to "map" the NT Domain ids to root (root = admin administrator
rdehn) but this seems to be ignored when I try and connect to a share. The
"username map = /etc/samba/smbusers" line is in the Global section of
smb.conf and testparm is OK. What am I missing? Is this not possible?
Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions!

Upgrade from SLES9 3.0.20 to 3.0.26a breaks getent
...ers. We are using winbind to communicate with an NT domain.
The server has been restarted and services are running. Using wbinfo -u and
-g does provide NT domain groups and users as expected and net rpc testjoin
result is OK. I have checked config files and they appear OK. What have I
missed?

wbinfo -t: NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME error
samba-3.0.21b on FreeBSD 6.0 and NT4.0 as a PDC.
After joining to a domain I can get a users list and a groups list with
wbinfo -u|-g but authentication does not work and when I try wbinfo -t
I've got the message:
checking the trust secret via RPC calls failed
error code was NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME (0xc0000122)
Could not check secret
Just one time it worked after I've restarted

SLES10 SP1 3.0.32 - Excel files set read only
...file. I had this same problem with the 3.0.28 update and the only solution
I found was to roll back to the previous version. My understanding was
that 3.0.32 should fix this. Did I miss something? Are there smb.conf
changes that need to be made also?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
