glm, poisson and negative binomial distribution and confidence interval
...s for a same species can be quiet different. I now need to get a confidence interval for my predicted count and I want to compute the coefficient of variation. It looks like the function pois.ci() (package NCstats) gives a confidence interval for a single given value or bspln() and bsnb() ("degreenet") gives also CI but using bootstrap. I therefore need a vector of counts using those latest function, which I don't have since I have only one predicted values from my Glms. My questions are the following: - can I use easily pois.ci to get my confidence interval using my predicted mean?...

Checking package licences including dependencies?
I only recently discovered options("available_packages_filters" = list(add = TRUE, "license/FOSS")) [cf. help("available.packages", package="utils") in R 2.10.0 or later] which goes nicely with my options("checkPackageLicense" = TRUE) [new in R 2.11]. But now I want to purge my library of packages I would not have installed had I known about

MLE optimization
Folks, I'm kind of newbie in R, but with some background in Matlab and VBA programming. Last month I was implementing a Maximum Likelihood Estimation in Matlab, but the algorithms didn't converge. So my academic advisor suggested using R. My problem is: estimate a mean reverting jump diffusion parameters. I've succeeded in deriving the likelihood function (which looks like a gaussian
