Sound deformation during conversation or IVR message
Hi, We have a working asterisk with 1 E1 and a TE405P. During conversation, when one side is speaking, the other hears sometimes (every 5 to 20 seconds, it is random) a little deformation of the voice/sound. It sounds like "scricth" and not during more than 0.5 seconds. We have exactly the same problem when asterisk give messages to caller by an IVR. No need to be lot of

Shelf plugin ignores current deformation and places window only on 'cube' face during rotation?
Guys, Here is a potential bug that may need to be looked at. If the scale plugin is used and deformation is set to cylinder, then when the desktop is rotated, the self-sized windows are shown on the face of the cube instead of on the face of the cylinder. The sphere deformation has the same problem. It looks really odd. Here are a couple of screenshots showing this behavior: (1) screenshot of

how to draw an ellipse
That's probably a stupid question, but I'm looking for a low-level command which plots ellipse, specifying only center and deformation axes. The purpose is to illustrate bivariates gaussians with 2D .95 confident levels without using any specific library. Thanxs for your help, Guillaume

merging variable and character
Hi R lovers! I'd like to know the trick to get a plot with a title associating variable and text I'd like to plot something like for (i in 1:10) plot(x[,i],ylab="Serie" & i) to get Serie 1 Serie 2 so on and so forth... of course it doesn't work. If somebody could give me an idea, it would be very nice thank you very much and long life to R Vincent

Hi r lovers! I 'd like to apply the cor() function to a matrix which have some missing values As a matter of fact and quite logically indeed it doesn't work Is there a trick to replace the missing value by the mean of each variable or by any other relevant figures ? Or should I apply a special derivate of the cor() function, (I don't have any idea if it exists and have some trouble to

R 1.6.0 benchmark with and without optimized ATLAS
Hello, I am updating my benchmark (http://www.sciviews.org/other/benchmark.htm) to recent versions of data analysis software (including R 1.6.0 and Splus 6.1), and I now run it on a Pentium IV instead of the old Celeron 500 Mhz that candidates for retirement. I test R under Windows Xp pro with and without optimized BLAS. I use the optimized Rblas.dll for P4 found on CRAN. Here are the results.

using speex in a wireless network
Hello, ????????at the beginning I want to underline that I've read SpeeX documentation and did some tests. I know that SpeeX was designed for networks in which packets arrive without errors, or don't arrive at all. SpeeX is very attractive if we consider low bit rates. I need to use SpeeX in very noisy environment, where speech quality doesn't matter, I'm interested in 2kb/s

QQplot
Hi! <http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n4651293/qq.png> We are stuck with a problem considering the qqplot of a dataset. We are trying to discover what kind of distribution this is. We already tried to normal, exponential or the logaritmical distribution but none of those are able to solve our problem. Is there someone able to tell us what kind deformation we should try? (I'm

curvilinear grid
...l: A question from a new user. I have data on a geo-referenced curvilinear grid. This is a grid with 75 rows and 51 columns, is not aligned north-south, and the rows and columns are not straight. (And the coordinates are in meters.) I want to make image plots of this data, but where the grid is deformed according to the correct locations of the grid points, instead of coming out rectangular. I've found the sp package, which seems to be kind of close to what I'm after, but maybe I haven't figured out how to invoke it properly, or maybe there's another package I haven't found ye...

Mouse cursor problems in Windows DomU after installing ATI-driver fglrx to X11
...the driver, because I think the graphic card driver should not influence the movement of the mouse (only the cursor visualization, if even something)... Can anyone help me with this issue? Sure, I can also live with the old driver, but then everything on the desktop is a little bit deformed, because the 1280 points are spread to 1650, so everything is deformed... And I thik generally there should be "no reason" why the Dom0 graphic driver should influence the mouse movements in DomU Ay help or advice would be appreciated. Greetings...

Melting TDM card
...ought me my new TDM400P with 4 FXS modules. I installed it (in the correct type PCI slot) , plugged in the power, and fired up the system. A few minutes later everyone in the office is complaining about something burning. I open the server again, and the top of the Digium card is black, slightly deformed, and looks and smells of melted plastic. The funny thing is.the card still works just fine (as far as my testing has revealed, anyway. I haven't tried ringing the lines, just placing calls from them). Maybe this is how Digium knows if a card is returned used or not? Still, nothing was to...

test for arima coef's significancy
Dear sirs, I would like to know if there is a function to compute the pvalue for the significancy of arima coef in an arima object created by the arima function. I have written this one: pvalueArima<-function(x,arima) { t<-(arima$coef)/(diag(arima$var.coef)^0.5) df<-length(x)-length(arima$coef) 1-pt(t,df) } Has somebody already implemented something equivalent ? thank you for your
