Samba Password Expiry Date
...set to 2147483647(unix timestamp), which if i converted it into human
readable format, it will be 2038 year, bla..bla..and bla second. it is
really unbelieveable that my password will be lasted until year 2038
year??? i have looked thoroughly on the internet resources, some
mentioning about on defaultMaxPasswordAge flag. I think i have set it to
55 (actually, i dunno whether what is the quantity representing, day??
time??). but, i have no point to make it works.
so, i am seeking the solution making the password expiry feature
avaiable in my pdc. FYI, i am using FC2, samba 3.0.3-5. thanks.

Samba3 + smbldap-tools & smbpasswd
...p, nss_ldap,
pam_ldap and the smbldap-tools to create a PDC.
Following various examples, most things work, but I have an issue with
changing passwords from Windows.
If I manually change a password with smbldap-passwd, the script
correctly adjusts the sambaPwdMustChange attribute according to what
defaultMaxPasswordAge is set to.
If I change the password through Windows, Samba presumably uses
smbpasswd, because the sambaPwdMustChange attribute is then somehow set
to only 2 days into the future. The same thing happens if I run
smbpasswd manually. As a simple hack I even tried symlinking
/usr/bin/smbpasswd to /us...

smbldap and password expiration
Greetings,
I just recently set up a new server with samba and openldap authentication using smbldap. The passwords seem to be expiring after about 30 days. How do I set them so that they don't expire?

Posted this question once already -- no response. Password expiry problem
A user with the X (password doesn't expire) flag on his account was forced to change his password because it expired on a system with
pdbedit -P'maximum password age'
account policy "maximum password age" description: Maximum password age, in seconds (default: -1 => never expire passwords)
What's going on? why is samba ignoring this and expiring passwords anyways?
