2.9.0 and make check errors | mystery deepens
So, I tried the following configure:
./configure --with-lapack --with-blas --with-tcltk
No use of ACML at all, but both lapack and blas. Configure proceeds
without any errors. Make, same thing.
Make check - same problem with stats. But, this time a .fail file got
created in tests/Example. Bottom of the file has something which might
resonate with someone out there:

Logistic regression and R
Hello everybody :-)
I have some data that I want to model with a logistic regression, most
of the independent variables are numeric and the only dependent is
categorical, I was thinking that I could apply a logistic regression
using glm but I wanted to deepen my knowledge of this so I tried to do
some reading and found the "iris" dataset, now I would like to ask two
things, first if you know of any bibliography to read more about the
logistic regression and R so I could understand and interpret better the
output, and second, what could I d...

Thanks for any insight.

Is there a logging level required and for what application? I don't see
a mention of cifs.idmap in the journal logs which deepens my suspicion
that it not being used.
The only reference I see is:

Sep 24 09:32:01 pc-u20 kernel: Key type cifs.spnego registered

USA BRI -- any hope at all?
Folks --
First, apologies for not lurking for weeks or months to get the culture of the list. I read the recent post about improvement to the quality of posts with some amusement and full agreement. The problem is a big and very real one. I hope I'm not deepening it.
But my question isn't explicitly asked with this subject line or definitively answered in the archives -- that I have found.
What I did find left me with the impression that USA 'BRI', uh, '2B1Q' protocol(?) is not supported by *any* hardware vendor, at all, period, nor...

VLAN issue
Thank you everyone.
OK, the mystery deepens, I guess. The machine does need to support several
VLAN's, it is currently on a trunkport (8021q encapsulated), it made it
into the ARP table - which I specifically tested for by physically
unplugging the table, clearing the ARP table and plugging it back in.
The ARP table currently looks lik...

Box-Cox / data transformation question
Dear R users,
Is it reasonable to transform data (measurements of plant height) to the
power of 1/4? I?ve used boxcox(response~A*B) and lambda was close to 0.25.

Type II and III sums of squares with Error in AOV
I've recently run into the problem of using aov with nested factors,
and wanting to get the type II and III sums of squares. Normally Anova
from the car package would do fine, but it doesn't like having an Error
included, so
my.aov <-aov(Response ~ Treatment + Error(Treatment:Replicate))
Anova(my.aov, type="II")
yields
Error in Anova(nested.anova) : no applicable method

--delete bug?
I have a script that does a weekly backup on a local backup harddrive
with the following command:
# rsync -aRxW --delete / /mnt/backup
Today I got errors because the target drive was full. It appeared
nothing on the targed drive ever got deleted.
When I used the following command to backup only my home dir, it worked
as it should.
# rsync -aRxW --delete /home/joost /mnt/backup

safe for a short time I have again gone back to using Postfix as the
