What's the current equivalent of winecheck?
...mentation doesn't help much; the user is doing one thing, thinking he or she is doing what's being asked for, but in fact it is something different. Is there a current equivalent to winecheck for the beta wine? How is a user supposed to be able to tell if wine installed correctly? Thanks, deedee

...stems (all currently Mandriva Linux 2006.0). I need the Windows programs to be able to access quite a few large archives of user files and except for the recent problems with WordStar, Wine has worked better (fewer problems with the software) than Windows for running the applications. So having non-technical discussions is no problem with mailing lists either. deedee -- Registered Linux User #327485

Support section revamp
Hi Folks, We've now reconnected the newgroup comp.emulators.ms-windows.wine to the wine-users mailing list, so they are, in theory, one 'virtual' community. We also revamped the web site a bit to try to make these things pop out a bit more. Please see this page in particular: http://www.winehq.org/site/getting_help Hopefully this will help people find a way to search for help and

Wine success: HABit Wordstar Converter (version 3)
I had need of a bit of computer archeology (oddly enough, for a couple of archaeologists, but that's another story). I used Henry Bartlett' HABit Wordstar Converter (version 3) (http://www.hotkey.net.au/~hambar/habit/wsconvrm.htm) to convert some Wordstar for Mess-DOS files to text and HTML. It worked just fine under wine (http://www.winehq.org). wine-20041201-1fc3winehq on Fedora Core 3

Can I use Wine to Run the Scan Function of a HP Officejet 4215?
Hello, I have been trying to use the scan function of my HP Officejet 4215 by invoking sane. And that is not working. As an alternative, I hope I could run Wine as Windows XP and read in the HP cd that came with my printer to setup the printer and the scan function. Right now the printer works. It prints, copies, scans (using HP Director) and faxes and scan under Windows XP. Under

BTRFS partition won't mount
Hello all, I recently had a power failure and can no longer mount my /home directory. The harddrive has two BTRFS partitions: sda7(/) and sda8(/home). The / partition loads up just fine, but /home does not. I''ve tried btrfsck as shown below and I''ve included dmesg pertaining to btrfs. This is on ArchLinux and the software versions are as follows: btrfs-progs-unstable

SDL display of HVMs -- how?
I''m having some trouble working out how to make the SDL interface for HVM domUs appear. The documentation simply says "it will appear" when you start the domU, but doesn''t state what packages or libraries are needed in order for this magic to happen, or explain how to debug it if it doesn''t happen. All that I''m getting at the moment is a domU (running
