Dear all, The help for `?install.packages` decribes, in the `pkg` argument description : > If this is missing, a listbox of available packages is presented where possible in an interactive R session. In fact running it with a missing argument triggers an error : install.packages() > Error in install.packages : argument "pkgs" is missing, with no default What however

Calling functions of R from Perl?
Hi, I've already asked this question, but unfortunately I've combined it with another question. So it was ignored in almost all cases. Thanks to those who have already given some hints. Here again: I don't want to use R interactively (issue commands after the prompt > ..), but use some functionality of R from inside a Perl script. Can I use methods of R from a Perl script: Is

Enable XAT_OFFLINE extended attribute in Samba
My goal is to use the Offline file attribute of Windows when sharing with Samba: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.io.fileattributes?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=netframework-4.7.2 It works when I share ZFS filesystem using the native ZFS CIFS sharing, but it fails when I share the same ZFS with Samba, that is the Offline files are not showed in Windows Client Il 3/4/2019

MAC OSX vs Win XP: Different stats test results!
Hi all, I wondered whether anyone has some advice on a stats-related 'sanity check', as I ran a nonparametric multivariate test (mulrank function as decribed by R. Wilcox, 2005) on both systems, but got different results (please see below for the system-specific outputs)! The functions I used are attached as well. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance for getting back to

Unable to join AD (FreeBSD)
Hi, I am trying to get samba 3.0.7 working with our win2k DC. I installed samba from the ports collection, so the kerberos library looks to be the heimdel version. I can use kinit to create a ticket and it authenticates against the DC just fine. However when I attempt to use "net ads join" it fails with the following response: [2004/11/09 16:32:30, 0] utils/net_ads.c:ads_startup(183)

CentOS Stream 9 virt-install via loop-mounted ISO fails
Hi, I've loop-mounted the latest CentOS Stream 9 DVD ISO and try to do a virt-install (2.0.x for some reason) as non-root user (libvirt group member) using --location with the mount path, but then I come across the problem decribed here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2022630 That is, I see on the console "Starting dracut initqueue hook...", then it stalls for a

Convert existing System to PV
Greetings! Is there a tutorial how to create a domU from an existing system (SUSE-9.3)? It should decribe all the steps from the very begin: copy the exiting system to an image etc, etc. The dom0 is a openSUSE-11.3, if that matters. I''ve been researching quite a while but did not find any suitable. Thanks for hints Wolf _______________________________________________ Xen-users

Profiles updates...
Hi, I have a little problem with my profiles... When a user creates a new file; it correctly appears in its profile on the server when the profile is saved. But, when he deletes a file; it is not deleted from its profile on the server. In the mean time, he can connect to his profile folder on the server and delete them manualy... Any idea what could be the problem? I looked at the logs (lvl 1)

DEoptim example illustrating use of fnMap parameter for enforcement of cardinality constraints
...s an optional parameter fnMap: fnMap "an optional function that will be run after each population is created, but before the population is passed to the objective function. This allows the user to impose integer/cardinality constriants." Unfortunately, there is no further documentation decribing the kind of parameters being passed to this function on invocation or the structure of the return value expected. I would very much appreciate it if somebody familiar with this package could provide an example illustrating how this interface is meant to be used to enforce cardinality constraints....

preprocesssor questions
...pu cycles if I only run the VAD? 3) Or more specifically is it possible to only run the VAD and only if the VAD returns speech do the real precessing (AGC, NS). Basically save CPU if there is no real voice. 4) You are writing that people are working on improving the VAD. Again are there documents decribing the changes or how does one get started? A regression in 3.0.25rc3?
Dear Samba team, I have installed the above release of samba and I am seeing the same problem as decribed in this old posting when I try to add permissions to printers: http://lists.samba.org/archive/samba/2006-July/123177.html Interesting that this was last seen in 3.0.23. 3.0.24 behaves as expected. Samba 2.2.4 and Printing with W2K
Firstly, apologies for asking this again, I see that it cause a mail loop lasttime. We've setup samba(2.2.4, no patches) and installed the printer drivers using the methods decribed in the printer_driver2.html. The drivers have appeared to have install correctly, we you right click on the printer share and select properties the relevent tabs for the printer driver appear. However, once
