Meaning of "vlan=" and "name=" in Linux KVM
Greetings KVM gurus, I am trying to understand a "use case" scenario for the "vlan=n" option and "name=name" for the "-net nic" and "-net tap" directives. I have done some search but I have not come up with anything that sheds any light on the above. <quote from kvm man> Network options: -net nic[,vlan=n][,macaddr=mac][,model=type]

On the ups killpower via ethernet
Hello mailing list I read in the snmp-ups manpage that this driver does not provide a shutdown function because there will be no network at the point it is called. So I studied the Ubuntu initscripts, and in fact the network is killed in /etc/rc0.d/S35networking while the driver would be called at /etc/rc0.d/S90halt so this is correct... however! ...disabling the S35networking seems a simple

答复: 答复: How to disable CTDB pulling up NICs
Thank you very much for reply. Our test team insists on simulating network failure by using ifdown instead of just unpluging the cable. I have to modify the event script 10.interface. When noticing a NIC failure, CTDB just marks the NIC down and do not try to pull it up. It seems to work fine. -----邮件原件----- 发件人: Martin Schwenke [mailto:martin at meltin.net] 发送时间: 2016年9月18日 18:49 收件人: Weidong

Newbie questions -- is OCFS2 what I even want?
Dear Sirs and Madams, I run a small visual effects production company, Hammerhead Productions. We'd like to have an easily extensible inexpensive relatively high-performance storage network using open-source components. I was hoping that OCFS2 would be that system. I have a half-dozen 2 TB fileservers I'd like the rest of the network to see as a single 12 TB disk, with the aggregate

[PATCH] nr_cpus calculation problem due to incorrect sockets_per_node
Testing on an 8-node 128-way NUMA machine has exposed a problem with Xen''s nr_cpus calculation. In this case, since Xen cuts off recognized CPUs at 32, the machine appears to have 16 CPUs on the first and second nodes and none on the remaining nodes. Given this asymmetry, the calculation of sockets_per_node (which is later used to calculate nr_cpus) is incorrect:

R-beta: updating the library index / overriding compile options
Would it be possible to include a new command in the ${RHOME}/etc path, which updates the Library index (Rd and html) via "R LIBINDEX". I need it because I use RPM to manage three different R installations (at home, at the institute and in the seminar rooms). I put all libraries into several packages, so it is easy for me to update a single library at all these different places. But

XL: pv guests dont reboot after migration (xen4.1.2-rc2-pre)
A pv guest will not reboot after migration, the guest itself does everything right, including the shutdown, but xl does not recreate the guest, it just shuts it down. This goes for 2.6.39 and 3.0.4 guest kernels, havent tried different ones. I also haven tried different xen versions. Dont know if this would affect hvm, probably not since qemu leaves the guest running and does a
