decentralised vpn with dynamic ips
Hello.
I am using the current 1.0 stable.
I have tinc daemons on different dynamic ip connections.
They have ports forwarded.
They are using switch mode.
I have 1 box which has dynamic dns set up.
I would like everyone to use that for bootstrapping using ConnectTo.
However I do NOT want that host to tunnel all traffic due to downtimes and bandwidth limitations.

Future of the xapian-commits list
...switched to git, commit notifications
haven't been sent to the xapian-commits list.
We can probably install a hook for git to get them flowing again, but
given that none of the ~20 subscribers to the list has complained, I'm
wondering if a list for commits is still useful. Perhaps with a
decentralised version control system it isn't, though the git.xapian.org
repo does still have a special status.
Thoughts?
Cheers,
Olly

Small site survivability

registrar. We are converting to SIP, and from what I can tell Cisco wants a
license for each router to run SRST over SIP...
So my question to the group is: What are

a few tinc questions
Greetings All,
Can someone please try to answer a few questions for me regarding TINC
so that it might clear up some things that I can trying to get a better
picture on.
1. I am trying to understand the ideas that allow a TINC host to join
multiple networks which raise questions. What prevents a user from
joining multiple networks without authorization to join. How is that

The hidden costs of GPL software?
Hello,
In the latest 'Scientific Computing World' magazine (issue 78, p. 22), there
is a review on free statistical software by Felix Grant ("doesn't have to
pay good money to obtain good statistics software"). As far as I know, this
is the first time that R is even mentioned in this magazine, given that it
usually discuss commercial products.
