Samba4 list members of an AD group
Hi
When I add the posixGroup class to an AD group, add a user to the group
and set their primaryGroupID, I can add members to the group:
samba-tool group addmembers debusers lynn2
ERROR(ldb): Failed to add members "lynn2" to group "debusers" - samldb:
member CN=lynn2,CN=Users,DC=hh3,DC=site already set via primaryGroupID 1106

file update when read only
re: Samba-1.9.18p8
Windows 95 client connected to a read-write Samba file share .
If a file is modified from Unix, Windows 95 client does not see the changes
made when the file is opened read-only, the file prior to the modification
is read. If the windows 95 client opens the file with read-write (opened
in an editor) the current modified file is read.
Any suggestions?

Cannot change password
Server: Slakware Linux 2.0.30, GNU C 2.7.2.1 Samba 18p7
Server is not using PAM and is a ypclient.
Client PC's are DOS 6.20 with MS Client 3.0 and Windows 95.
I am having trouble changing passwords using the "net password \\<server>"
command from either DOS or Win95 command prompt. Changing passwords worked fine
using Samba 17p3.
The compile switch -DALLOW_CHANGE_PASSWORD

Getting rid of "You haven't logged on here before"
According to the Samba docs, there's really no good way
to have Windows stop asking "You haven't logged on here before.
Would you like your settings saved?" or whatever nonsense
it actually says.
However, due to headaches getting profiles COPIED and not
merged with local copies as well as privacy concerns, I'd like to blast
the profiles subdirectory constantly. But that

no updates seen on PC after unix changed (v2.0 alpha)
Hi,
I just installed Version 2.0.0-prealpha on a Solaris 2.5.1 machine.
We are exporting one filesystem to the PC's. I can connect from
my Win95 PC without a problem and I see all the files on the shared
drive. If I bring up Windows explore and double click on a text
file I can see the file without a problem. I then close the file
and go to the unix box and change the text file. If I then

Samba PDC with 100+ Client Experiences?
First of all, kudos to the Samba crew. You've made a great application,
which will hopefully commodotize Microsoft's biggest asset, their NT
server.
I've set up Samba 2.0.0 as a PDC with roaming profiles. All seems to
work well with the small limited set of machines I've used. Backgrounds
and all settings seem to be saved, and all works well. It took quite a
bit of time to get

What kind of system works best?
If any of you recall, I sent a message before regarding issues with a
100 client-based Samba server. After speaking with the company I'm
working with and showing them some of the replies, they are enthusiastic
about the system, and we're all looking forward to seeing it working.
Thank you for all your replies and for your help. There were quite a
few replies, and I can't get a
