Is there a package, or does anyone have code they are willing to share, that would allow me to simulate sampling of dead wood pieces across an area? I am specifically looking for code to simulate the dead wood distribution as small line segments across an extent, and then I will "sample" the dead wood using different sampling techniques including line transects, fixed area plots, etc.

Hello, I have two different files which I'd like to combine to make one data frame but I've no idea how to do it! The first file has two columns; one is the date, the following is a binary code for debris flow events. Then my other file has also two columns; the date and then precipitation data. The thing is, is that the two date columns don't all contain the same dates. The binary one is every day from April - October from 1900 - 2005, yet the precipitation file has dates from from say, 1911...

Hello, I created a CentOS 5.0 x86_64 guest under Debian Etch with Xen 3.0.3 and it boots fine except for one re-occuring problem - whenever it boots the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 script gets renamed to .bak and doesn''t configure the ethernet device.
