Problem with RODBC sqlSave
Hi,
I'm able to establish a successful odbc connection using RODBC 1.3-2 on Win
7 and R 2.12.0. But I'm getting the following error message when I try to
save a data frame into the debase as shown below.
library(RODBC)
bbdb <- odbcConnect("bbdb")
odbcGetInfo(bbdb) # returns ok
sqlSave(bbdb, USArrests, rownames = "state", addPK=TRUE) # example from the
RODBC manual

Live DB backups with rsync?
Is it possible to do live backups of a running DB with rsync???
I was just talking to livevault.com & they (only on win boxes) say they
can grab changes from a client's live DB & sync them remotely.
It sounded like BS to me, but I'm neither a DB guy or sync'ing expert.

Data Simulation in R
Dear List:
A few weeks ago I posted some questions regarding data simulation and
received some very helpful comments, thank you. I have modified my code
accordingly and have made some progress.
However, I now am facing a new challenge along similar lines. I am
attempting to simulate 250 datasets and then run the data through a
linear model. I use rm() and gc() as I move along to clean up the

hardware crypto and SSL?
Is anyone successfully using some sort of hardware crypto solution to
combat the overhead of SSL in http transactions? I'd love to hear
anything good or bad about this.
