So, like a lot of people, I am using --link-dest to do backups. My

I've just finished some projects here, and have documentated stuff which i want to share with other users.
I want to know if it is possible to add a link in the samba.org home page for a possible site for Brasilians users.

Probably you need a mechanism to "ensure" different pages to be allocated.

An alternative behavior for symlink
Hello All,
I've been googling a lot but I can't find any suitable solution or
advice, so I'm asking you.
I'm trying do find a way to sync two distant folders containing
symlinks pointing to files outside the synced folders BUT with
different target names.
Here is an example:
./dir1: (source)
file --> ../data/file
./dir2: (destination)
file --> ../share/other_file

It is important to clarify that pages that are on the inflate queue but not
ACKed by the host (the queue entry has not been returned) are _not_ okay to
reuse.
If the host is going to do something destructive to the page (like deback
it) then that needs to happen before the entry is returned.

cannot rsync when source directory lacks write permission
I seem to be running into a problem where I am trying to rsync from a
source directory that lacks write permissions (i.e. r-xr-xr-x).
Presumably this is because rsync creates the directory on the
destination, then sets the permissions to match the source and then
tries to sync the contents of the directory, which it cannot of course
lacking write permission in the directory.
Is there a way to

While you are correct, this comment is in the ?free page hinting? section/if (not obvious by looking at the diff only), so it does not apply to inflate/deflate queues - but only free pages that are getting hinted. Or am I misreading your...

winbind
Hello!
I set debug level 10 to samba 2.2.0 and now see in log:
[2001/05/10 08:31:48, 10] smbd/uid.c:gid_to_sid(409)
gid_to_sid: winbind lookup for gid 5284 failed - trying local.
How can I say to samba to not try use winbind?
